Linda Hamilton. Linda Hamilton was born in Salisbury, Maryland on September 26, 1956. Her father, who died when she was five, loved the theatre and opera. She moved to New York in 1976 and studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. Her first big role came in 1984 when she starred as Sarah Connor in "The Terminator". In 1990 she underwent intense physical training for her role in "Terminator 2: Judgement Day",(Her twin sister appeared as her double in this film). Linda won a Blockbuster Award for Favorite Actress - Action/Adventure, for her performance in "Dante's Peak".
Graham and Lauren. Graham is played by Jeremy Foley, who was born on February 20, 1983 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He made his first screen appearance in "Dante's Peak" and later played the voice of Casper in "Casper: A Spirited Beginning" and "Casper Meets Wendy". Jeremy won a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Feature Film - Supporting Young Actor, for his role in "Dante's Peak". Lauren is portrayed by Jamie Renée Smith, who was born on April 10, 1987 in New York City. She started acting at the age of six, and won a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Feature Film - Young Actress Age Ten or Under, for her role in "Dante's Peak".
Graham. Harry saves Graham's life by stopping him just as he is about to jump into the hot springs. Changes related to the impending eruption, had caused an abrupt increase in water temperature. The next morning, Rachel invites Harry for dinner "to say thank-you for saving Graham's life."
magic handkerchief trick. Harry is sitting at the kitchen table when he does this trick for the children. He passes an imaginary needle and thread through the tip of his handkerchief. When he pulls on the nonexistent thread, the tip of the handkerchief bends, as if by magic.
regular coffee. When Harry comes to Rachel's deli, she lists various specialty coffees and asks him what type he would like. Harry responds "Can I just have a regular coffee?" Later, Rachel delivers coffee to the U.S. Geological Survey team and mentions Harry's coffee preference again.
Pool. Harry is playing pool with the other members of the U.S.G.S. team and has just paid up twenty dollars to Greg. He goes over to talk with Rachel at the bar and offers to walk her home. As he's starting to leave, Terry looks up from the pool table and says "Hey Harry, it's your break." He responds "It's your game guys."
Her daughter asks for a glass of water.. Lauren wakes up and calls to her mom from the top of the stairs for a glass of water. When Rachel goes to get her one, the water appears to be contaminated. Upon checking the town's water supply, they notice it is tainted by volcanic sulfur and sediment.

Windshield Wipers. When Graham comments that he "can't see through the ash," Lauren suggests that he turn on the headlights. Graham replies "They are on." Then Lauren asks "Can you make the windshield wipers go faster?", and Graham responds "I don't know how." At the end of this scene, Lauren suggests "Maybe this wasn't such a good idea."

Row Row Row Your Boat. The children are afraid when the lake water, which has turned to acid, starts to enter the boat. Lauren asks, in a frightened voice, "Is the boat going to sink?" To calm the children, Harry starts singing "Row Row Row Your Boat", and the others slowly join in.

While driving over the lava field. While trying to drive back down the mountain, the group encounters a cooling lava bed blocking their path. After getting their tires stuck and finally breaking free, they spot Ruffy on a rocky hillside near the road. As they call to him, Ruffy jumps into the back of the truck just in time.
To escape the pyroclastic cloud. As the fast moving and destructive cloud approaches, Rachel asks "What is that?" Harry replies "That is a pyroclastic cloud. Don't look back kids. Don't look back." To escape this hazard, Harry races through the town and drives them headlong into the abandoned mine shaft.

ELF. When Harry tells Rachel and the children that he forgot ELF, Graham asks "What do you need that for?" Harry replies "It's a transmitter designed by NASA. We were testing it for them. I was hoping it would send a signal so people would realize we're down here."
Fishing. Trapped in the mine, Lauren asks "We're not going to get out. Are we?" Harry then describes a lovely deep-sea fishing trip that they can take together as soon as they are rescued. At the end of the movie, Graham asks "Did you mean what you said about taking us fishing?" Harry replies "Sure did."
