"Hang loose.". Steven is worried because he has never slept with Angela and it's his wedding night. Stan (John Cazale) has apparently slept with Angela, and is whispering about it to anyone who will listen, as well as the fact that she is pregnant, but by whom? Nick is trying to get him to relax.
the steel mill. This scene sets the atmosphere of this little town in Pennsylvania that they love. This is their home.
mustard. There is so much going on with the characters by the time they go up to the mountains to go deer hunting after the reception, and before Vietnam. They know each other so well. Stan causes all kinds of problems and fun for his buddies here.
He proposes at the reception after she catches the bouquet.. Linda answers "yes" right away and Nick laughs with surprise. They both want to laugh and cry at the same time with all that is happening and fear of what's to come.

"What do you mean, trying?". Michael is always in control and prepared, while Nick is still polishing his shoes.

John. Drinking and being wild before the wedding and then all cleaned up and singing in church!
Serving God and Country Proudly. I'll never forget the three huge pictures of Nick, Michael and Steven hanging up in the reception hall.
Welch's Lounge. This was not easy to find in the movie and never said.
Because her Dad is abusive.. Her Dad is obviously very ill, a drug addict, an alcoholic or a combination. Not a good situation. After that day, I imagined that Linda came to check on her father, but only when absolutely necessary.
Nick. Nick says this in the locker room at the steel mill when they are leaving the steel mill and Stan is looking at himself in the mirror.
Blonde. They are all blondes, including Meryl Streep.
Nick made Michael promise to never leave him over there.. Nick may have had a feeling about his own fate.

The birth dates of his parents.. After escaping death so many times, Nick was trying so hard to get himself together before he left the hospital. Many things must have been racing through his mind.

Three. Michael figured their chances were better if they had more bullets so they could shoot point blank at three of the guards and Nick could grab another gun and shoot the others. "Mao" this!

Linda. John is crying while making the eggs and starts humming the melody to the song, but Linda actually starts singing it and the rest join in.

Socks. Steven shows Michael the cash in his bedside table at the Veterans Hospital. Michael then forces Steven to leave the hospital.
He is playing Russian Roulette and shoots himself dead.. When Michael is facing him in Russian Roulette, there is a moment right before Nick pulls the trigger that he realizes that it's Michael.
Five. Best Picture, Best Director (Cimino), Best Supporting Actor (Walken), Best Sound and Best Editing (Zimmer).
Pennsylvania. They all live in Pennsylvania and work in a steel mill. It is most likely a small town near Pittsburgh.
Stanley. Michael, Steven and Nick all shipped off to Viet Nam right after Nick's wedding. Stanley, Axel and John stayed home.
Steven. Steven was back by the time Mike got back. He was in the VA hospital.
