Insomnia. The amazing thing is that you don't even get to see Robin Williams for the first half of the movie. "Insomnia" stars Al Pacino as Will Dormer, an established police detective who is called to Alaska to work on a murder case. Walter Finch, played by Robin Williams, is a local writer who was involved with the young murder victim.
Good Will Hunting. They didn't have any scenes together. Robin Williams won an Oscar for his performance in "Good Will Hunting" (1997). Robin Williams plays Sean Maguire who ends up counseling Will Hunting played by Matt Damon. Hunting is a young janitor at Harvard who turns out to be a genius. Ben Affleck plays Will Hunting's best friend Chuckie Sullivan. Damon and Affleck wrote the award winning screenplay.
Armageddon. "Armageddon" (1998) stars Bruce Willis as Harry Stamper, a driller who works on an oil rig who is called in by the government to help destroy an asteroid headed toward the earth. Ben Affleck plays A.J. Frost who falls in love with Stamper's daughter, Grace.
Pulp Fiction. "Pulp Fiction" (1994) stars John Travolta as Vincent Vega as a hit man, and Bruce Willis as Butch Coolidge, a boxer who is going to throw a fight for Vega's boss. Everything gets a little bit out of control when Butch decides to win the fight and run away with the money.
Get Shorty. "Get Shorty" (1995) is about Chili Palmer (John Travolta) a shylock from Miami who goes to Hollywood to collect on a loan. Gene Hackman plays Harry Zimm, a producer and screenwriter who owes a lot of different people a lot of money.
The Quick and the Dead. "The Quick and the Dead" (1995) is a western about Ellen (Sharon Stone) coming into a corrupt town run by John Herod (Gene Hackman) and trying to win a gun competition for a large amount of money.
Casino. "Casino" (1995) is about Sam "Ace" Rothstein a casino owner, played by Robert De Niro. Among other problems, Ace falls in love with Ginger (Sharon Stone) McKenna. Ace convinces Ginger to marry him as a business proposition, even though she is still in love with her old drug dealer boyfriend.
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. In the classic story by Mary Shelley about the ethics of artificially creating life, De Niro plays the monster and Tom Hulce plays Henry Clerval.
Amadeus. "Amadeus" (1984) is the story of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Tom Hulce). Based on the Peter Shaffer play, it is about Mozart's life and the struggle of Antonio Salieri (F. Murray Abraham) a fellow court composer to deal with Mozart's genius and irreverence.
Scarface. "Scarface" (1983) is about Tony Montana's (Al Pacino) struggle to achieve the American Dream by creating a drug empire. F. Murray Abraham plays Omar Suarez. They were both also in Serpico, but F. Murray Abraham was uncredited.
Boogie Nights. Burt Reynolds plays Jack Horner and William H. Macy plays Little Bill in "Boogie Nights" (1997), a movie about the pornography industry in California in the 1970's and 1980's.
Mystery, Alaska. Burt Reynolds plays Judge Walter Burns in the 1999 movie about a local hockey team getting to play the New York Rangers in an exhibition game. Russell Crowe plays Sheriff John Biebe, Mystery's best hockey player.
L.A. Confidential. "L.A. Confidential" (1997) is about a crime scene investigation seen through the eyes of different detectives. Russell Crowe plays Officer Wendell 'Bud' White and Kevin Spacey plays Sgt. Jack Vincennes.
The Big Kahuna. They were also both in "LA Confidential". Kevin Spacey playes Larry Mann and Danny DeVito plays Phil Cooper. "The Big Kahuna" is based on a play by by Roger Rueff. It is about some salesman trying to score a big deal.
Throw Momma From the Train. In the 1987 movie "Throw Momma From the Train", Owen (played by Danny DeVito) and his creative writing teacher, Larry Donner (Billy Crystal) make a deal that if Owen kills Larry's ex-wife, then Larry will kill Owen's overbearing mother.
Cop Land. A deaf man, Freddy Heflin (Stallone) who always wanted to be a policeman gets elected sheriff in New Jersey. When Heflin tries to help Moe Tilden (De Niro) on an internal affairs case, he finds out that policemen are not all the heroes he had always thought they were.
Assassins. In the 1995 action movie "Assassins" Sylvester Stallone plays Robert Rath, a hitman that is getting ready to retire. Unfortunately for Rath, a young hitman Miguel Bain (Banderas) is trying to steal his last contract and kill Rath.
Coming to America. James Earl Jones play King Jaffe Joffer father of Prince Akeem (Eddie Murphy) in this 1988 comedy. When Prince Akeem meets the woman that was groomed to be his queen, he decides he wants to marry for love and comes to Queens (New York) to find his queen.
Bowfinger. Steve Martin wrote and starred in the 1999 movie "Bowfinger". Frank Oz directed the comedy. Steve Martin stars as Bobby Bowfinger a director/producer/actor who is risking everything on a script that he thinks is his big money maker. A big time producer promises he will make the film if Bowfinger can get superstar Kit Ramsey (Eddie Murphy), to act in the film. When Kit is unavailable, Bowfinger finds a someone who looks just like Ramsey to play the part.
The Three Amigos. Steve Martin plays Lucky Day, and Chevy Chase plays Dusty Bottoms in this 1986 comedy. The three western actors (the other one is Martin Short)are called to a Mexican village where they think they are going to play a show, and the villagers think they are there to fight the bad guys.
Caddyshack. Chevy Chase played Ty Webb in the classic 1980 comedy. Bill Murray played Carl Spackler, the groundskeeper at the golf course. The country club is turned upside down when a loud obnoxious new member joins.
What About Bob?. Frank Oz directed the 1991 comedy "What About Bob?". Bill Murray plays Bob Wiley, a man who has almost every kind of phobia. Bob goes to a new psychiatrist, Dr. Leo Marvin (Dreyfuss) who he really likes. When Dr. Marvin goes on vacation, Bob follows him.
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" was written and directed by Tom Stoppard. The two main characters are from the play "Hamlet". Richard Dreyfuss is The Player and Gary Oldman plays Rosencrantz.
Both of These. Anthony Hopkins plays William Parrish and Brad Pitt plays Joe Black. Joe Black is death personified. Things go poorly when Joe, who has come for William Parrish, becomes interested in his daughter, Susan (Claire Forlani).
Clear and Present Danger. Harrison Ford plays Jack Ryan, and Jones plays Admiral Greer in both films. James Earl Jones also played the role of Greer in "The Hunt for Red October", which did not star Ford. Both "Patriot Games" and "Clear and Present Danger" are international intrigue CIA stories. Jones also provided the voice for Darth Vader in the first three "Star Wars" movies in which Ford starred as Han Solo.
Taxi Driver. Martin Scorsese directed "Taxi Driver" (1976). Robert De Niro starred as Travis Bickle, a taxi driver who through a series of strange events ends up trying to save a young hooker (Jodie Foster) from her pimp (Harvey Keitel).
Cape Fear. De Niro plays Max Cady in the 1991 remake of "Cape Fear". Max has come to seek revenge against the attorney that landed him in jail, Sam Bowden (Nick Nolte). Cady even gets involved with Bowden's teenage daughter, Danielle (Juliette Lewis).
From Dusk Till Dawn. Harvey Keitel plays Jacob Fuller and Juliette Lewis plays his daughter Kate Fuller. They are taken hostage by some criminals and taken to a bar that is full of vampires.
Red Dragon. "Red Dragon" is the prequel to "The Silence of the Lambs", it was also a remake of the film "Manhunter". Keitel plays Jack Crawford who enlists his ex-partner (Ed Norton) Will Graham to help him solve a case involving a serial killer. Graham goes to seek advice from Hannibal Lecter. Graham is the detective that caught Hannibal and is responsible for his imprisonment.
Rounders. Ed Norton plays Lester "Worm" Murphy and Matt Damon plays Mike McDermott in "Rounders" (1998). "Rounders" is about these two guys trying to win money playing poker to help "Worm" pay off his debts.
Dogma. Matt Damon plays Loki and Alan Rickman played Metatron (the voice of God)in the 1999 movie "Dogma". Two angels that have been banished from heaven are trying to get back in through a loophole, in this hilarious Kevin Smith movie.
