Die Hard:With A Vengeance. "Die Hard" takes place in Los Angeles at Holly's Christmas party. "Die Hard 2: Die Harder" takes place at Washington's Dulles Airport, where John is waiting for Holly to arrive for Christmas. "Die Hard: With A Vengeance" takes place in New York. The comment made by the kid John catches stealing candy about it being Christmas is just a metaphor meaning you can have what you want because there are no cops around. There are no Christmas decorations up anywhere and people in the park are wearing tank tops and shorts.

Fred Dalton Thompson. Thompson worked as a shoe salesman, truck driver, factory worker, and lawyer before becoming an actor. Thompson can be seen on the archive footage of the Watergate Hearings in the Oliver Stone 1991 movie "JFK". He was one of the active lawyers on the Watergate committee during the trial. Thompson won a special election to the U.S. Senate from his home state of Tennessee in 1994. He was reelected for a full term in 1996. The Republican Senator served from December 2, 1994 until January 3, 2003. When he joined the cast of the television series "Law and Order" as District Attorney Arthur Branch in the Fall of 2002, Thompson became the first serving U.S. Senator to take a regular television acting job. His term did not end until January 3, 2003.

Johnson. At the incident scene, the two FBI agents (one black and one white)approached Deputy Police Chief Dewayne T. Robinson (Paul Gleason).
One FBI agent announced, "I'm Agent Johnson, and this is Special Agent Johnson, no relation". Agent Johnson was played by Grand L. Bush and Special Agent Johnson was played by Robert Davi.
Gennero. Holly McClane relocated to Los Angeles as a career move. She chose to use her maiden name because she was separated from her husband, and for professional reasons . John McClane was still working as a police sergeant in New York. John's visit to the west coast was to spend time with his family for the Christmas holidays.
Los Angeles Police Department. After reconciling his marriage with Holly, John chose to support her career goals by relocating to Los Angeles, and becoming a member of the LAPD. John is seen flashing his LAPD badge to Chief Lorenzo when they first met at the airport.
Dulles International Airport. The film opens with John McClane illegally parking his car in front of a terminal at Washington D.C.'s Dulles Airport. John is there to meet his wife's incoming flight.
Some of the interior and exterior airport shots were filmed at the old Stapleton Airport in Denver, Colorado. Some of the the scenes that took place inside the airport were filmed at Los Angeles International Airport in California. Close observation of the phone equipment revealed the 'Pacific Bell' logo, something that would not be found on phones at Dulles Airport. The church that the mercenaries used as their command center next to the airport, was actually located in Highland Lake, just North of Denver, Colorado.
fingerprints. McClane obtained the fingerprints from the dead suspect while he was being carried away on a stretcher by morgue attendants. When questioned by the attendant about his actions, McClane stated that there was "a new SOP for DOA from the FAA".
In one film making error, when McClane sent the fax with the fingerprints, the page was sent upside down. When Sgt. Powell received the fax, the page was turned rightside up. Faxes are received in the same orientation as they are sent.
Clarence Gilyard. Gilyard co-starred in the 1986 movie "Top Gun" with Tom Cruise, playing Maverick's RIO, 'Sundown'. Gilyard's television credits include co-starring for four seasons with Andy Griffith in the series "Matlock", playing Conrad McMasters, and nine seasons with Chuck Norris in the series "Walker, Texas Ranger", as Walker's partner and friend, Ranger Jimmy Trivette.
electrician. In the scene where McClane and Zeus are trying to steal a car, McClane stated to Zeus, "You know how to hot wire a car?" The reply by Zeus, as he worked on the car's ignition with a pair of pliers was, "Of course I do, I'm an electrician."
Zeus Carver was working in his Harlem shop when his two nephews called him to the window to see McClane walking on the street, wearing little more than a sandwich sign with a racially offensive comment on it. Zeus was able to hustle McClane into a cab before a group of neighborhood street hoods could seriously hurt him. Zeus commented to McClane in the cab that he could just imagine what the street hoods were doing to his shop.
John Amos. Amos is probably best known as the strong willed father, James Evans Sr., on the television series "Good Times". Amos had over 70 television and movie role credits from 1970 until 2006.
Art Evans played Leslie Barnes, the chief engineer for airport operations. Fred Dalton Thompson played Mr. Trudeau, chief of airport operations. Steven Segal was not in the movie.
Argyle. De'voreaux White played the role. Argyle spent most if the film locked in the underground parking garage of the Nakitomi building.
Lieutenant. Lt. McClane was on suspension from the NYPD when he was specifically called in to assist with this case. The head bad guy, Simon demanded that McClane be involved.
In "Die Hard", he was a NYPD police sergeant and in "Die Hard 2" he was a LAPD police sergeant.
