Rear Window. This movie is based on Alfred Hitchcock's "Rear Window". In "Rear Window" the main character is a photographer that is in a wheel chair from an accident. He becomes convinced that one of his neighbors is a murderer. In "Disturbia" Kale can't leave his house because he is on house arrest. In both movies the main character spies on the neighbors from inside their houses and then realizes that one is a murderer.
Shia LaBeouf. Shia LaBeouf is best known from the Disney channel show "Even Stevens". He was also in "The Greatest Game Ever Played" and he will be in the fourth installment of "Indiana Jones".

Ashley. Kale sees Ashley from his window and is instantly hooked on her. She eventually sees him spying on her, and comes over to meet him. They end up being good friends and eventually really liking each other.
He is on house arrest.. Kale punches his Spanish teacher and because he has previous offenses, he is put on house arrest instead of jail. In "Rear Window" the main character broke his leg so that is why he can't leave his apartment.
His mom. Kale's dad is killed at the beginning of the movie, when they are driving home from a fishing trip. He is hit by a car and is killed. Kale still blames himself for it happening. Kale's mom is angry that Kale is on house arrest because she has to pay each day for the monitor on his ankle. Kale thinks that everyday he will get to do whatever he wants, like summer vacation, but his mom takes away his itunes account, x-box live and T.V. because she thinks that he should feel punished, not happy.

Turner. Kale at first only suspects Mr. Turner because he is watching the news and they talk about a a killer that has a blue car with a dent in it. So while watching from his window, Kale saw the same kind of car described, so he starts watching Mr. Turner more closely.

David Morse. Character actor, David Morse has appeared in a recurring role on the medical drama "House." Morse is quite convincing in "Disturbia" as a man most people would rather not welcome to the neighborhood.

"Operation stupid is officially over.". Here was one of the times when the teenaged investigators seemed to realize their limitations, with another 'very close call.' It was also one of my favorite lines in the movie, just one of the many heart-stopping moments in this suspense thriller.

the cousin of the teacher he assaulted. Kale fears that Officer Gutierrez will be unfairly biased against him, since he punched out the officer's cousin, his unfortunate Spanish teacher.
"Every killer lives next door to someone.". There is no irony here; this tagline is quite true and its realization within the course of the movie is quite chilling.
