Where are Charlie and Jerry in the first scene of the movie? | Eight Below

sauna. Charlie and Jerry are relaxing at camp and decide to race outside, barely dressed, to check on the outside temperature. At 31 degrees below zero Fahrenheit, they break a new record at camp. As soon as they confirm the temperature, they both run back into the sauna where it is toasty warm.
in the snow. The dogs burrow into holes in the snow and their body heat reflects off of the snow and keeps them warm. In some of the scenes, after snowfall during the night, all you can see are their noses poking out of the surface. Two Alaskan Malamutes and six Siberian Huskies are the true stars of this movie.

severe storm. Jerry (played by Paul Walker) tells the Doc they have to head back immediately. The Doc asks Jerry for a few more hours to research the area and look for the meteorite artifact that he has come to Mt. Melbourne to find. Jerry agrees. As they are heading back to camp, everything falls apart. The storm moves in fast and the Doc, trying to radio camp while Jerry tends to Old Jack's injured paw, falls through the ice. The Doc suffers a broken leg and severe hypothermia, and Jerry and the dogs rush back to camp for medical care.
The crew is forced to evacuate the camp and the eight sled dogs are left behind. All manage to break free of their chains after a few days except one. Which one? | Eight Below

Old Jack. Max is the first to break free - he playfully chases the camp flag across the snowy field. The other dogs follow but Old Jack, too tired to even try, lays down as the younger dogs romp around him. Maya stays with Old Jack at first, encouraging him to get up and even nips at his collar to help him out of it but finally, the pack must leave him behind. Later, when Jerry returns to camp to look for the dogs, he finds Old Jack exactly where he left him, on the chain.
Jerry is determined to go back to the Antarctic to search for the dogs. He visits Dr. McClaren at his home in California to enlist his help. What is the Doc's son drawing on his father's leg cast when Jerry arrives? | Eight Below

rocket ship. Jerry brings the Doc a picture, taken of the two of them with the sled dogs just before they had embarked on their research trip. Jerry asks for funding to get him back to Antarctica but the Doc cannot help him. Dewey. Dewey and Truman are affectionately referred to as The Twins. Truman had bitten Dewey years earlier, over the eye, and they have been friends ever since (Dewey still bears the scar from the bite). Dewey falls down a steep slope and breaks his back. Unable to move, the other dogs stand guard over him but during the night, he expires. Each dog says good-bye to him but Max (the youngest dog) hangs back to nuzzle Dewey and gets separated from the pack after they have all left.

Russia. You can tell it is the Russian camp because all of the food supplies have Russian wording on the labels. The dogs are able to spend their first night inside, out of the harsh elements. They also manage to scavenge for food and find boxes of crackers to eat. At this point, the pack is shrinking. Dewey and Old Jack have died and Max has gotten separated from the rest. Traveling together are Maya (who is still the leader), Buck, Shadow, Shorty and Truman.
Determined to get back to Antarctica, Jerry goes to New Zealand in hopes of hiring a ship to take him to the camp. Jerry meets with a captain of a fishing vessel in a bar in New Zealand and asks to hire him. While talking to the captain a waitress brings Jerry a drink. What kind of drink is it? | Eight Below

Fresca. At the start of the movie, Jerry offers Katie a Fresca and in Christchurch, NZ, the waitress sends over a Fresca to Jerry "courtesy of the lady at the bar". Jerry is reunited with Katie, Charlie (played by the funny Jason Biggs) and Dr. McClaren. The Doc explains that he has some extra grant money and has hired a ship to take all of them to Antarctica. The four set off immediately to find Jerry's team of dogs.

attacked by a leopard seal. Max lures the seal away from the pack so that they can eat, but it comes back around and grabs Maya by her back leg. She is severely injured and although she can still walk, she realizes that she can no longer lead the others. She shows the pack that Max is now the leader by offering her food to him. The others follow suit but Max takes his meal to Maya and together they share it.
Where does Jerry find the dogs who survived? | Eight Below

at his camp. Max hears the crew arrive at the camp. Max runs to Jerry and the other dogs follow and are happily reunited with their master. Maya however is severely injured from her seal attack and when the crew and dogs are ready to leave the camp, Maya is not with them. Jerry assumes that she met a similar fate as Old Jack, but Max barks insistently and leads Jerry to where Maya is laying. At first she appears to have died but when Jerry lays his hand on her, she slowly opens her eyes. Jerry carries her back to the SnowCat and they all leave for the mainland. Maya, Max, Truman, Shorty, Shadow and Buck all survive their ordeal in Antarctica. The dogs had been on their own for approximately 175 days.
This movie was inspired by actual events from 1958 involving 12 sled dogs from a Japanese expedition. Thanks for playing and enjoy this movie!

Coop. When Coop is telling the others about how he found the Italian base, the Doc doesn't see where the story is headed and starts to ask Coop what it has to do with anything. Coop replies with "Horses, Doc...rein 'em in." By this, Coop is telling the Doc to have patience while he makes his point, or in other words, to "hold his horses."
