Fallen
Jonesy. Jonesy was played by John Goodman and was Hobbes' partner. Tiffany was another police officer in the precinct. Art was Hobbes' brother and Sam was his nephew. Both Art and Sam were possessed by this evil spirit during the movie. Tiffany was also possessed by this evil spirit briefly while it bounced around in the precinct.
Hobbes decided to travel north to Robert Milano's old home. While nosing around the house looking for clues he stumbled across something in the basement. He scrubbed the wall and discovered some letters there. What did they spell? | "Fallen" Part 1

Azazel. The letters on the wall were AAELZZ which ended up spelling Azazel. Hobbes had to do some investigation before understanding what the letters meant. He found out that Azazel, in the Old Testament, was an evil spirit and it needed a host body to survive. The word apocalypse was also in the movie but in a different fashion. It was broken up into groups of letters and written on the bodies of the dead victims. As the story progressed the letters on the different bodies ended up spelling apocalypse.
As the serial murders continued Hobbes recognized similarities in the current murders with those that Edgar Reese committed before he was caught and executed. As the investigation continued, the police department's linguist listened to the tape that was recorded when Hobbes was talking with Reese in the prison. Reese was speaking an unintelligible language. What was this language? | "Fallen" Part 1

Syrian Aramaic. The language turned out to be about 2000 years old and only a very few nomadic tribes still spoke the tongue. This was considered a Biblical tongue and Reese spoke it fluently. Hobbes began to wonder exactly what was going on.

Robert Milano. Mack and Lou were members in Hobbes' precinct. Abberline was the inspector from the movie "From Hell" starring Johnny Depp. Robert Milano was the name missing from the board. Robert was a decorated police officer in 1965 but committed suicide under suspicious circumstances in 1966 so the department took his name plate off the board.
During the first murder scene in the movie the detectives found something on the wall of the victim's apartment. What was scrawled on the wall? | "Fallen" Part 1

Lyons ??? Spakowsky. Reese asked Hobbes why there was a space between Lyons and Spakowsky when Hobbes visited him in his cell before he was executed. The number 7 was on the chest of the first murder victim. Hobbes found out that Lyons and Spakowsky were both cops who were mentioned on an Honor Roll board. The honor roll board was then put in storage. The order was as follows: 1964 George Lyons, 1965 name was removed, 1966 Anton Spakowsky.

phone call at 3am. The phone call reminded Hobbes of how Reese used to call him at 2 or 3 a.m. During the phone call he was given a clue which he and his partner followed up on the next day.

Edgar Reese. Jay Reynolds was a character later in the movie who was possessed by the evil spirit. Robert Milano was the police officer who had been dead for 30 years and was also a victim of Azazel. Ted Bundy was a notorious serial killer who was executed for his crimes. Edgar Reese was the serial killer who was possessed by the spirit of Azazel.
Denzel Washington. John Hobbes was a detective and the main character in the story. He started the movie out by saying "I want to tell you about the time I almost died." We learned at the end that Hobbes was not the actual storyteller: it was just his body and voice.
Nicholas Kazan. Nicholas Kazan also wrote the screenplay for "Bicentennial Man" and "Mobsters" to name a couple. Gregory Allen Howard was the screenplay writer for "Remember the Titans". Jeremy Iacone wrote the screenplay for "The Bone Collector" and Jeffery Deaver wrote the book. David Ayer wrote the screenplay for "Training Day". Note the last three movies all star Denzel Washington.
By the end of the movie we learned that it was not Hobbes but Azazel speaking through Hobbes about the time he almost died. He didn't die, though, because he found another body to possess. What was this body that he found so that he could live on? | "Fallen" Part 2

domestic cat. At the end we saw a cat wander on screen turn and wink. The cat then sat down and began to lick its paws contentedly. The last words we heard from Azazel were "fooled you" in a playful mocking voice.
James Gandolfini. James Gandolfini played the role of Lou, another cop in Hobbes' precinct. John Heard was a guest star on "The Sopranos". Joe Pantoliano also appeared as a guest on "The Sopranos". Gabriel Casseus played Art, Hobbes' brother.
both. Hobbes lit up a poisoned cigarette and then shot Jonesy. His hope was to force Azazel out of Jonesy's body and into his own body so that the poisoned cigarette would kill him. We learned that this plan didn't work out as well as Hobbes had hoped.
Milano's house in the north country. The showdown took place at Milano's place in the north because it was an isolated area. Both Maguire and Jonesy were present during this showdown. Jonesy was the possessed one and shot Maguire, then went after Hobbes.

took him to Gretta's house. Hobbes took Sam to Gretta's, knowing he would be safe there. Hobbes told Gretta that the spirit wrote on Sam's chest and he was afraid that Sam was next. Both Sam and Hobbes stayed with Gretta that night. Hobbes had also learned he was a suspect in one of the murders because of misinformation fed to the press.

theology professor. Gretta was a theology professor and she had been working on this mystery since her father committed suicide 30 years ago. Gretta tried to fill Hobbes in with as much information as she knew. Gretta also warned Hobbes that he didn't know what he was dealing with.

a touch. Throughout the movie you saw the slightest of touches between people. The spirit moved with these slight touches from person to person. If the spirit left the body and there wasn't another nearby it could move up to 500 cubits or 1/6 mile to find a host body.
