Mark. Mark, played by Eric McCormick, is making a pitch to Mort Berg. He's trying to get his script made into a movie. I don't know what Mort was thinking. I would go see a movie called "Brady Killer".
no. I think they did a bang up job in casting that young man. Young Mark was so determined to get in to see the movie. He wasn't going to let a little thing like a crotchety old lady and her "rules" stop him from watching the adventure begin.
yes. Dang, that kid was getting the snot kicked out of him. Of course, Robert had his little pep talk from The Captain. Does this prove that 12 year olds are smarter than adults? Maybe, but we know they have more vivid imaginations.
Krakatoa. The girl in the poster is none other than Jeri Ryan. Jeri went on to be 7 of 9, the rogue Borg drone. If you don't remember her in the skin tight silver outfit from Voyager, maybe you saw her in "Dracula 2000". She was the reporter that got bitten while her camera guy filmed her.

full suit of armor. That really was a wacky idea. Who could pull off a one man Julius Caesar? But you gotta admire the guy's ambition. He sat there and detailed how he could play every character except Calpurnia. When Mark asked him "Won't you have to stab yourself in the back?" if he played both Brutus and Julius Caesar, Shatner's response was "I've done it before."
L.A. Burger. The guys have their own lingo. TRU is their code for Toys 'R Us. This is the scene where we found out about Mark's ex-girlfriend, the munchkin. He's not very fond of her, but his reason for staying in contact with her was "a guy's gotta stay in practice".
Parker and Schweiger. The scene where Schweiger says that he spent his life savings to join Great Encounters was inspired by Robert having to listen to the real life Schweiger moaning about his love life every day at work. In a deleted scene, Schweiger asks Robert to help him get more dates. Robert says "You go on more dates than anyone I know." To which Schweiger replies "Firsts dates! I need to go on a second date, Bob!"
