Fried Green Tomatoes
With the Couchs. They take her in.
The one with the lake that got carried away to Georgia. 'There used to be a lake right over there. Ducks would eat in it, children would swim in it, it was a great lake. One day these ducks were in the pond, and the temperature dropped so fast, that the lake just froze right up. The ducks didn't die, they flew away and took that whole lake right with them. To this day I hear that lake is somewhere over in Georgia.'
Moby Dick. He lied in court for her, but she has to promise to go to church!
Frank Bennet. He beats Ruth and Idgie hates him.
Big George . Big George loves Idgie the most.
Ruth. They become friends and then Ruth does 'bad things' with Idgie.
Buddy. He got hit by a train.
What was the man's name that Ruth married, and Idgie was arrested for the murder of? | Fried Green Tomatoes

Frank Bennett . This name was said so many times in the movie.
Moby Dick . No it was not the Bible.
Mary Kay. This point was hard to pick up but Evelyn mentions it.
What two magazines did Evelyn say she would put little bombs in, so that they'd explode when you open them? | Fried Green Tomatoes

Penthouse and Playboy. Tiwanda was on the rampage. If you saw the movie several times you'll understand that.
She needed fresh air and sunlight..
Big George. How little Sipsey could give birth to Big George is beyond me.
Chocolate icing. Ruth and Idgie were having a little food fight in the kitchen, and when Grady walked in Ruth got a knife full of chocolate icing and smeared it all over his face.
Idgie's brother Cleo. I've watched the movie so many times, and I never saw who Cleo was. But that's who she said she married.
'Did you know I had my gallbladder out?'. Strange but true. Those were the first words Evelyn heard from Ninny.
Cancer. Sadly, Ruth dies of cancer. In her final hours, she asks Idgie to tell her one more tall tale. Idgie tells her the one about the ducks that carry a frozen lake to Georgia, because that is Ruth's favorite.
Sipsey. Sipsey kills Frank. We do not find this out until the very end of the movie. When Frank comes back to kidnap his son, Sipsey counteracts by hitting him on the head with a frying pan. Ruth thinks that Idgie murdered Frank, and has no idea of the crime Sipsey has committed. Smokey Lonesome is also present at the murder, but he does nothing except tell Frank that he should not take Ruth's baby.
Grady. Grady Kilgore is the local sheriff. He is always hitting on Idgie. He and Idgie often play poker together. Idgie always wins.
Ed. Evelyn Couch's husband is named Ed. They are continuously trying to spice up their marriage. At one point in the film, Evelyn imagines what Ed would do if she answered the door wrapped in nothing but Ceran Wrap!
Buddy. Ruth names her son Buddy Threadgoode Jr., after Idgie's dead older brother. Before he died, he always tried to woo Ruth with his charm.
Idgie Threadgoode and Big George. Idgie and Big George are put on trial for Bennett's murder, even though neither one of them actually committed it. Idgie is assumed to have committed it by a lawyer from Georgia who has an insider tell him about the threat Idgie gave Bennett when she went to get Ruth.
Frank Bennett. All of these choices are characters in the movie, but Frank Bennett is the name of Ruth's husband. He is a very abusive man. When Idgie comes to pay Ruth a visit, she is surprised to see Ruth with a black eye. Idgie puts two and two together. The next time she comes to visit, she takes an expecting Ruth with her and threatens to kill Frank Bennett in his own home!
Mary Stuart Masterson. Idgie is probably the wildest character in the film. As a child, she refuses to wear a dress to her sister's wedding, and instead wears suspenders.
Mary Stuart Masterson plays Idgie. Mary-Louise Parker plays Ruth, Kathy Bates plays Evelyn, and Cicely Tyson plays Sipsey.
We all know that "Fried Green Tomatoes" is a southern film. Exactly what state does the majority of this movie take place in? | Fried Green Tomatoes

Alabama. The majority of this film takes place in Alabama. The Southern feel of the movie is apparent throughout the film, especially in the scene where the Ku Klux Klan capture Big George. The Ku Klux Klan was very popular in the South.
Honey. We see the jar of honey on Ruth's grave as placed by Ninny.
The closing shot is of the front of the Whistle Stop Cafe. We can see such advertisements as 7-UP, Frostie Old Fashion Root Beer, and (of course) 'Fried Green Tomatoes Served Hot'.
Ice cream and cake. The children run away happily to the cafe. At this point, Ruth says that her father always said there was a separate God for children. Buddy, of course, is named after Idgie's brother. Idgie insists on calling Buddy Jr. "Stump" after this incident.
Sheriff Curtis Smoote visits Whistle Stop many times searching for Frank Bennett (Ruth's husband). He believes Idgie murdered Frank. What is Curtis' favorite dish at the cafe? | Foods Featured in "Fried Green Tomatoes"
|
Barbeque. Frank Bennett is indeed murdered and served as barbeque by the cafe. Idgie, however, does not murder Frank. It is only her idea to cook and serve him to the town. Curtis is literally eating his own evidence.
Sheriff Curtis Smoote is played by Raynor Scheine.
