England. Yes, it was filmed entirely in England. Look at the road signs at Parris Island. They are designed for driving on the left side of the road. It's also why you can see their breath in some of the combat scenes. That's not likely in a tropical country like Vietnam. Why was it filmed in England? I have heard many rumors, but the most popular theory relates to the fact that the late Stanley Kubrick would not fly and insisted that the film be shot locally.
