    What is the name of Michael Douglas' character?"The Game", Part One

      Nicholas Van Orton. We meet San Francisco financier Nicholas Van Orton on the occasion of his 48th birthday.

    What is the name of Nicholas' maid?"The Game", Part One

      Ilsa. Ilsa is portrayed by Carroll Baker who you may remember from films like "Baby Doll", "Harlow", and "The Carpetbaggers".

    What type of car does Nicholas drive?"The Game", Part One

      BMW. With a name like Van Orton, you knew it had to be a Beemer or Benz!

    Nicholas' ex-wife calls to wish him a Happy Birthday. What is her name?"The Game", Part One

      Elizabeth. She has remarried since their divorce, to a doctor, and is expecting.

    Of course, Nicholas' brother calls to wish him a Happy Birthday and invite him to lunch. When they meet for lunch, Conrad (or Connie) commits a faux pas. What is that social error?"The Game", Part One

      lights up a cigarette. They have lunch at the exclusive City Club and smoking is illegal in California restaraunts. Unlike Nicholas, Connie is something of a ne'er do well and has had substance abuse problems.

    Conrad gives him a gift certificate to CRS for his birthday. What does the acronym CRS mean?"The Game", Part One

      Consumer Recreation Services. Conrad tells him that he will have a "profound life experience" when he participates in "The Game".

    Nicholas goes home alone, where the maid has his birthday meal in the oven. Naturally, he checks out the financial news on TV. Who is the reporter?"The Game", Part One

      Daniel Schorr. Nicholas has loads of money but not many friends. So he gets to share his birthday dinner with the TV.

    At this point, we learn that Nicholas's father committed suicide, when he was 48! How did he do it?"The Game", Part One

      jumped off the roof. This would come back to haunt Nicholas later in the movie.

    The day after his birthday, Nicholas decides to check out CRS. Who greeted him at the front desk and did his intake interview?"The Game", Part One

      Jim Feingold. Jim Feingold, played by James Rebhorn, was the "V.P. of Engineering Data Analysis" and did the intake interview with Nicholas. Nicholas would encounter Mr. Feingold a few more times during "The Game".

    When Nicholas asks his interviewer, "What does CRS provide?", what is the response?"The Game", Part One

      "whatever is lacking". Nicholas is dubious about the motives of CRS even thinking it may be a high priced escort service at first. But he goes ahead with the intrusive interviews and extensive tests.

    After his lengthy interview, Nicholas overhears some men discussing their experience with CRS. Where does he eavesdrop on this conversation?"The Game", Part One

      at his club. After a vigourous round of raquetball, he hears two gentleman talking about CRS in the lockerroom. He meets them in the lounge and inquires about their impressions of CRS.

    Nicholas returns to his mansion after the meeting at the club and finds something unusual lying the driveway. What did he find?"The Game", Part One

      a clown mannequin. The mannequin is lying in about the same location where his father had landed when he took the big plunge. Keep in mind, Nicholas had been rejected by CRS earlier in the day.

    Nicholas retrieves something from the object in his driveway. What was that?"The Game", Part One

      a key. The key becomes important later. But now, he learns that he is being monitored through a camera in the clown's eye and even taunted by Daniel Schorr through the television. Schorr calls him a "bloated millionare fatcat"!

    He has a business meeting with Anson Baer, president of one of Nicholas' many enterprises, where he intends to fire him. What was Baer's business?"The Game", Part One

      publishing. Baer had been part of the corporation for years, but the publishing business had lost money, so Nicholas decided to can him. It was at this point that Baer got a reprieve because for some mysterious reason Nicholas couldn't open his briefcase.

    When Nicholas returns to San Francisco, he has dinner at an exclusive restaurant where he ruins the second shirt of the day. How did that happen?"The Game", Part Two

      a waitress spills a tray of drinks on him. The waitress tries to apologize but Nicholas makes it clear he is irate. She responds with a epithet and and is promptly fired by the manager.

    Nicholas follows the waitress, Christine, out of the restaurant and they encounter someone on the street. Who did they meet?"The Game", Part Two

      a seriously ill homeless man. Someone had handed Nicholas a note saying "don't let her get away" so he follows Christine outside. Here they see the homeless man collapse and they render first aid. Then the police insist that they ride in the ambulance to the hospital.

    What is the name of the hospital where the sick man, Nicholas, and Christine are taken?"The Game", Part Two

      Mercy. As the homeless man is being wheeled into the emergency room, the lights go out, everyone but Nicholas and Christine run away, and across the parking garage, an elevator door opens!

    Nicholas and Christine board the elevator and of course it becomes stuck between floors! The emergency phone just happens to be missing, so they have to climb out the emergency door in the ceiling. When they finally escape the elevator, where do they find themselves?"The Game", Part Two

      at CRS' office. Nicholas wants to wait for someone to show up and help them, but when the security alarm goes off, they flee.

    CRS security shows up promptly and they are chased down an alley way by a police dog. Nicholas loses a shoe when he is climbing to safety from the dog. How much did that shoe cost?"The Game", Part Two

      $1,000. Apparently Nicholas doesn't shop at Payless. When the shoe drops to the ground he says, "Well there goes a thousand dollars." Christine responds, "Your shoes cost $1,000?" "That one did!"

    Nicholas and Christine eventually make it back to his office. Christine is impressed with his office and asks him if she can use his shower. What color was Christine's bra?"The Game", Part Two

      red. Christine's bra color will be significant a little later. Nicholas puts her in a cab and sends her on her way, thinking the worst is over.

    Nicholas is intrigued by the situation and goes to the room to see what is going on. What does he find in this room that he is certain he has never been to before?"The Game", Part Two

      remnants of a wild party. Evidence of the party includes drugs, numerous personal belongings, a bill for room service totaling $2,041 and Polaroids of a woman in a red bra!

    Nicholas is sure he is being framed and tries to clean up the "evidence". He then flees the hotel in his BMW and notices he is being tailed. What type of car is following him?"The Game", Part Two

      a Chevy. Nicholas manages to lose the guy briefly and then doubles back and surprises him, demanding to know who he is working for. He then takes the guys pistol, thinking it is loaded with blanks and shoots the car tire out! Nicholas is quite surprised to learn the bullets are real.

    Who does Nicholas believe is behind this "frame-up"?"The Game", Part Two

      Anson Baer. Nicholas bursts into Anson Baer's room at the Ritz-Carlton and makes a complete fool of himself, threatening Baer in front of his lawyer and Baer's family.

    Nicholas' paranoia deepens when he returns home and finds it vandalized with various taunts painted on the walls. What song is blaring on the stereo when he enters the mansion?"The Game", Part Two

      White Rabbit. The classic song about distorted perceptions by Jefferson Airplane may have added to his paranoia. Nicholas is now becoming very scared but "The Game" still has a long way to go.

    Nicholas goes to the phone and calls the police to report the burglary and vandalism. As he is on the phone someone startles him at the kitchen door. Who is that?"The Game", Part Two

      Conrad. Connie reappears, looking pretty terrified himself and scaring Nicholas even further. They flee the house in Nicholas' BMW, racing through the city until they blow a tire.

    As they try to figure out how to change the flat tire, Conrad opens the glove box. What does he find in there?"The Game", Part Two

      dozens of CRS keys. Connie is convinced that Nicholas is conspiring against him and runs away. Nicholas is now completely baffled!

    Nicholas never learned how to fix a flat tire and his cell phone doesn't work so he seeks alternate transportation. What type of transportation is that?"The Game", Part Two

      a taxi. Amazingly a taxi appears, late at night, and picks him up. The name of the cab company just happens to be, California Regal Sedans, or CRS!

    Soon Nicholas realizes that the vehicle that picked him up and it's driver are part of "The Game" and offers the driver a lot of money to let him go. Where does that vehicle end up, with Nicholas inside?"The Game", Part Two

      in the bay. The cabbie dives out of the cab and it speeds straight ahead toward the bay. Nicholas is trapped in the back as it plunges into the water. Will he get out?
