handcuffs him. This is the climatic confrontation between Clarice and Hannibal. Their first real interaction without glass or bars separating them.
he cuts his hand off. We don't find out until later that he wasn't totally monsterous. It certainly seemed that Clarice was doomed for a moment.
Kendler's brains. He does give the child a choice, and the child chose the brains, gross as it was.

'Rock-a-bye Baby on the Treetop'. How ironic that he whistles this right before Inspector Pazzi is thrown from the balcony and swings, though not into a peaceful slumber.
44. It was hard to understand Mason when he was speaking, I had to listen to it about five times before I understood it all.
Barney. Senator Martin had nothing to do in the movie, but she was mentioned in the book. If you have the DVD verison, you find out why Jack Crawford doesn't appear in 'Hannibal' although in the book he has a significant part in the plot. And we can guess what happened to Dr. Chilton by the ending of 'The Silence of the Lambs' and Barney's comments in this movie.
3. He drives a white pickup truck to Krendler's house. He is in a black car when he's playing cat & mouse with Clarice in the mall and the van that Mason's cronies kidnap him with. In the alternative ending, he is driving it also.
