In what two countries does the film take place? | Hostel

Netherlands and Slovakia. The film starts off in Amsterdam where Paxton, Josh, and Oli hang out and get girls. Then they are told of a hostel in Eastern Slovakia where they can get any girl they want, but they are in for more than that.
Oli. Oli is a very outgoing character in the film who will pretty much do anything that pleases him. He is from Iceland. When the director was in Iceland doing press for his first film "Cabin Fever" he met Eythor Gudjonsson who plays Oli, and he liked his personality so much he promised him he would put him in a film one day.
Who is the first to get tortured? | Hostel

Oli. Oli is the first victim of the organization after the girl he is dancing with lures him to the factory. We don't see him get tortured, but we see a picture of him on Paxton's phone when the torturer sends it to Paxton.
How does Josh end up in the torture chamber? | Hostel

He passes out at the hostel and wakes up there.. After the disapearance of Oli, Josh is really shaken up. He then goes to the disco with Paxton and has a few drinks. He tells Paxton that he is going back to the hostel to lie down because he is not feeling well. In the next scene we see him tied.

Natalya lures him there.. Paxton finds Natalya in a bar and asks her where Josh is. She lies to him and tells him that Josh is at an art show. They then get in a car and she takes him to his fate.

Elite Hunting. When Paxton is escaping, he goes into the changeroom to change out of his bloody clothes. He thens puts on a business man's coat and finds the business card for the organization which says "Elite Hunting". It has a hound as its mascot, and the prices on the reverse.
Which nationality costs the most to torture? | Hostel

Americans. The Elite Hunting organization is where sadistic, rich business men can act out their sick fantasies for a price. Americans cost the most at $25,000, with Europeans at $10,000, Russians at $5,000 and Germans are part of the European price. It is not on the card, but the American business man Paxton meets in the changeroom pays $50,000 for the Asian he tortured.
Jay Hernandez. Jay Hernandez's character Paxton is the rebel and just wants to enjoy the time in Europe getting high and meeting girls. He tries to save his life when he ends up at the organization and does not want to die in the most brutal way imaginable. He ends up killing his way out of the nightmare to escape.
Derek Richardson. Derek Richardson's character is soft, gullible, and nerdy. He is the easiest victim of the organization. He gets too drunk, goes to lie down at the hostel and wakes up to meet his brutal fate.
Eli Roth. "Hostel" is Eli Roth's second film since "Cabin Fever". Roth was originally going to make a documentary called "Murder Vacation" because ohe saw a website actually advertising to kill someone for $10,000. Helater decided to make a full length film because of how hard and dangerous it could be to get involved with such crime.
Eli Roth. Eli Roth also directed the horror flick "Cabin Fever". He is envied by other directors because of the way he uses simple resources and doesn't spend too much money creating his movie. He spent somewhere over a million on the "Hostel" movie, just creating it, but he made over a billion once it got to theaters.

Oli. Oli, also known as the king of swing is traveling along with Paxton and Josh. He is planning to take them with him to Barcelona, because he knows people there.
Where do Paxton and Josh meet their new friend? | Hostel

Paris. Paxton and Josh meet Oli in Paris during their backpacking trip. From Paris on, Oli joins them in doing all sorts of guy things throughout the trip.
How do the guys meet Alex, who tells them about the beautiful girls? | Hostel

He lets them into the hostel when they get locked out.. The three guys are too late to get back into the hostel, so Alex lets them into his apartment. From there he shows them pictures of girls, and then tells them where to find girls like this.

Bratislava. The guys start out in Amsterdam where they then meet Alex. They are planning on traveling to Barcelona to meet some girls. Alex tells them about some girls in Bratislava, Slovakia instead.

A salad. Paxton asks him "You need a fork there chief?"
The Dutch businessman replies "No. I prefer to use my hands. I believe people have lost their relationship with food. They do not think 'this is something that died for me so that I would not go hungry.' I like that connection with something you die for. I appreciate it more."
The Dutch businessman is eating the meat from his salad with his fingers which is what sparks the conversation.
The two friends are also making fun of the fact that the businessman just hit on one of them, and they are making a joke about it.

Josh. The Dutch Businessman says to Josh "What is your nature?"
Josh gets really mad and kind of disgusted that this older man is trying to hit on him. The man gets the hint that Josh doesn't want him, so he gets his things and leaves the train compartment.
What name is the reservation under at the hostel? | Hostel

The King of Swing. Paxton asks him "You made a reservation under 'The King of Swing'?"
Oli replies "Of course my horse."
Oli likes to call himself the King of Swing, and it's funny because it fits in with the personality he has in the movie.
Natalya. Natalya has brown hair and she really seems to like him.
Svetlana. Svetlana is the blond girl who is friends with Natalya. Svetlana is in business with Elite Hunting just like Natalya is. We don't really get to know Svetlana that well because it is Natalya that takes Paxton to the "art exhibit".
Oli. Oli hooked up with Vala, so the next morning when Oli had "checked out" Paxton was looking for Vala because Paxton figured that Vala and Oli were still together since the night before.
A storage room. Something was slipped into his drink and it made him all shaky when he was walking. Someone had left the storage room door open and he thought it was the bathroom. Then the door closed and he got locked in there until morning.

Josh. Josh had returned to the hostel the night before but he had to have help to his bed because he wasn't walking very well by himself. He was most likely drugged like Paxton because when Josh woke up he was in the torture chamber tied to a chair.
When looking for his friends, Paxton got a text message picture with a picture of his friend's head. His phone was taken away from him. Who took the phone? | "Hostel" - Part Two

some younger kids. The kids basically ruled the streets, they kind of are like mini gangsters because they roll in a pack and steal things from people. Later in the movie they become very helpful to Paxton later on in the movie.
The Dutch businessman. Josh: "You... Why?"
The Dutch Businessman: "I always wanted to be a surgeon. But the boards would not pass me. Can you guess why? You see? So I went into business. But business is so boring. You buy things you sell them, you make money you spend money. What kind of life is that? A surgeon, he holds the very essence of life in his hands - your life. He touches it."
Josh offers to pay him money to let him go, but the Dutch businessman really wanted to torture Josh. After he killed him he then had a pretend surgery on him.
Elite Hunting. We see the business card when Paxton is upstairs in the room taking some one's clothes to hide the blood on himself. On the back of the card are the prices for the nationality of the person. Americans were the most expensive.
two. Luckily after he kills his torturer he grabs the fingers and saves them.
her face being blow torched. Paxton was able to save Kana (the Asian girl) but only one half of her face is still normal looking. She is lucky that he didn't blow torch her whole face.
Slovakia. The movie actually starts in Amsterdam, where it starts out being fun. As the three boys travel further into Europe, the colors fade and the country seems more dim and dark.
He torches her eyeball.. Near the end of the movie the American businessman, who is played by Rick Hoffman, pays to torture Kana. Paxton runs back into the museum after he hears a horrid scream. The American businessman is using a blow torch to torch Kana's eye. Paxton ends up shooting the American businessman.
Yes. Eli Roth is the writer and director of the movie. He has a small part in the film. He can be seen in the cafe, in the background when they are smoking.
