 House of 1000 Corpses
68. The opening scene of the film is a television set playing Channel 68's "Halloween Eve Creature Feature Marathon" hosted by Dr. Wolfenstein. Channel 68 is used throughout the film for all the tv programming shown.
Captain Spaulding's Museum of Monsters and Madmen. Fried chicken is sold there, but when his commercial is shown, Captain Spaulding asks, "Do you like blood, violence, freaks of nature? Well then, come on down to Captain Spaulding's Museum of Monsters and Madmen". He then adds something about his tasty fried chicken.
October 30. The date is shown in the opening scenes of the film. It's also mentioned a few times that it's Halloween Eve during the first 45 minutes. They saved all the really creepy, weird, horrible stuff for Halloween itself. The year this took place was 1977.
Jackie Cobb. Stucky worked for Captain Spaulding. During the first scene at the museum, he is complaining to the Captain that the photo's ruined because the autograph was made out to him. He then said he planned on trading it to Jackie Cobb. Dawn Baker was one of the missing cheerleaders. Richard Wick worked at a local hardware store, and also attempted to rob the museum. Dr. Satan only likes to trade brain matter.
13 . If you look on the road sign for Captain Spaulding's, it says next exit. However at the end of his commercial it gave the specific directions, Exit 13 off Route 1 at Ruggsville.
Sid Haig. Rob Zombie wrote and directed the film. Bill Moseley played Otis. Dennis Fimple played Grampa Hugo. Sid Haig has been in the business for quite some time. He was in the horror films "Spider Baby" in 1964 (aka "The Maddest Story Ever Told"), and "Track of the Vampire" in 1966. He's also had appearances on a wide variety of tv shows such as "Charlie's Angels", "The Fall Guy", "Dukes of Hazzard", "Fantasy Island", "MacGyver", and "Just the Ten of Us".
Albert Fish. Albert Fish, born in the 1870's, was a sadistic masochist mainly known for his cannibalism. Lizzie Borden, famous for supposedly murdering her parents with an axe, is the second exhibit shown on the ride. Next was Ed Gein, who was the basis for the character Leatherface in "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre". Charles Manson wasn't mentioned.
Willows County Mental Hospital. "Willows County Mental Hospital was nicknamed Weeping Willows for the neverending cries of pain," Captain Spaulding explains during the Murder Ride. Dr. Satan believed he could create a super-human race performing brain surgery on mentally unstable people. However, it seemed to fail, and he was hung from a tree.
Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue. This song was done by The Ramones. After dinner, Grampa yelled "It's Showtime". Time for the family to entertain. "I Wanna Be Loved By You" is the song Baby gives her Showtime performance to. "Brickhouse" is playing while Otis is cutting and torturing Bill. "House of 1000 Corpses" is played during the opening credits.

Alison Cole, Valerie Green, and Cindy Thompson. After Mr. Willis hangs up the phone with Denise, his television is showing Channel 68's 7:00 news. The news reporter said their top story was about 5 missing cheerleaders and gave each of their names.
Lance Brockwell. Lance Brockwell introduced himself before announcing the evening's top story. He mentioned the investigators did not have a single lead in the case of the missing girls. They were last seen 4 days prior, leaving a high school football game.
House of Frankenstein. "House of Frankenstein" was released in 1944 and stars Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney Jr., and John Carradine. The title is shown directly before Denise asks Baby if she could use their phone. Mother Firefly lets her know they don't have one.
A dead girl. The girl was indentified as Karen Murphy, one of the missing cheerleaders. Police were even more baffled by the case now.
Otis. Otis tells Jerry that the story of Dr. Satan is all true. Since he had been so interested in it, he was taking him to meet the doctor.
f. Otis killed Bill and made him into "Fishboy" for Captain Spaulding's museum. Baby stabs Mary to death after she tries to run. They did give her a funeral ceremony. Denise finds Jerry in Dr. Satan's operating chair, but she escapes from the underground horror and craziness. Once she's free, she wanders onto the road and sees a moving car. Denise thinks she's safe and that Captain Spaulding is going to drive her to a doctor. However Otis is hiding in the backseat, and the very last scene is Denise in Dr. Satan's operating chair.
Dr. Wolfenstein. Right before the Captain Spaulding commercial, there is a Hallowe'en horror movie marathon on television. He is your host, the ghost host with the most, who warns you not to move a muscle, an artery or even a vein! I guess you really can't miss his program!
Cocker Spaniel. During their search for the missing teens, Donald Willis and Deputy Dick Naish come across many strange objects in the yard, and a barking dog inside one of the doors. The dog at the farmhouse startles the deputy. He informs Mr Willis that he almost had his pinky toe bitten off by a huge Cocker Spaniel which belonged to his ex-girlfriend. He has been afraid of dogs ever since.

Charles Manson. Although an equally infamous villain, the Manson murders occurred during the movie's time setting (1970's) and thus do not qualify for Captain Spaulding's museum just yet. Did you know that the Texas Chainsaw Massacre is based on Ed Gein?
John Wayne. Spaulding even has a tattoo of The Duke on his arm and can make it talk when he flexes it. "Saddle up the wagon pilgrim!"
Bill goes on to say that he's not much of a Western fan, but prefers science fiction.

Sherri Moon. Karen Black plays Mrs. Firefly, Erin Daniels plays Denise Willis and Jennifer Jostyn plays Mary Knowles. Sherri is also the wife of musician and director Rob Zombie and has appeared in a number of her husband's music videos. She is also featured on the cover of Rob Zombie's "American Made Music to Strip By" album.
1957. Mrs Firefly, a very flirtatious and interesting lady, is probably one of the more polite members of the family, which is not saying much. She mentions that she had a phone back in '57. Since then, there hasn't been anyone she's felt like "jaw-flappin'at no more." How would she order a pizza? I'd hate to be the poor guy who has to deliver it!

Get Grampa. Tiny reads the message and heads upstairs to wake Grampa, who appears not to be too impressed at being wakened from his slumber. The teens are left to sit in awe of how large and grotesque Tiny is.

Otis & Tiny. After Baby's face appears in the rear passenger window, the teens panic and drive for the exit. Bill exits the car because the gate is closed. Otis and Tiny are dressed as scarecrows. Otis goes over to Bill and blindsides him with a bat. When Jerry gets out to intervene, he is struck by Otis and tossed about by Tiny. The two girls are captured along with Bill and Jerry.

$185. G. Ober or Goober (Romald the new employee draws in the extra 'O' in G. Ober and makes the word Goober), tells the two that the damage is quite severe. Baby reassures him that it's not enough to break her bank. Goober thanks them for stopping by and the two head back to the farmhouse.
Dr. Wolfenstein. The host, Dr Wolfenstein, declares that the Halloween Movie Marathon will be on all night on channel 68. This program seems to be a local broadcast, unique to the Firefly's part of Texas. Dr. Wolfenstein was going to be played by Rob Zombie, but he decided against it. But Rob Zombie does put Dr. Wolfenstein on the "House of 1000 Corpses" soundtrack.

The Manson Women. Jerry is looking through a magazine that has an article about the Manson Family women, Jerry says to Bill, who is driving, that he thinks they're hot. The Manson women were Charles Manson's women followers, who thought of Charles Manson as a God. They killed Sharon Tate, her unborn child, and many others on the orders of Charles Manson. Susan Atkins, Leslie Van Houten and Patricia Krenwinkel are the three women Jerry and Bill discuss. Rob Zombie includes these small details about serial killers throughout the movie, especially during Captain Spaulding's Murder Ride.

A bag of fried chicken.. Captain Spaulding, for whatever strange reasons, gives all of his customers a small bag of fried chicken. There doesn't seem to be any brand on the bag, so it would make sense that Spaulding makes the fried chicken himself. In fact, in a later scene, where two police officers stop buy at Captain Spaulding's, he tells the police officers that he hasn't "fired up the grill yet".

Playing cards. Denise and Mary pass the time by playing cards. The scene doesn't show the game long enough to tell what card game they are playing. Jerry is in the front seat napping and listening to the radio quietly. Mary stops the game to comment that she thinks she has heard something outside, but the girls continue playing their game of cards. The second time Mary thinks she hears something strange outside the car, she turns down the radio and turns on the headlights. It turns out just to be Rufus Firefly, Baby's brother, who is going to tow their car.

They are writing a book about roadside attractions.. The kids are writing a book about roadside attractions, while they are driving across the country. The topic of the book isn't delved into very much, only that the group wants to document the strange and interesting sites, like Captain Spaulding's establishment. When they stop at Captain Spaulding's to refill on gas, Bill and Jerry think Spauldings would be perfect to write about. But they also plan to stop at Mary's father's house for a visit, though it is not the main reason for the trip.

A Hostage Cheerleader. The hostage cheerleader is one of four girls who have been kidnapped from a Ruggsville football game, by the Firefly family. Baby Firefly says the above quote to a hostage cheerleader she has tied to her bed. Baby complains that the cheerleaders have done nothing to cheer her up since they arrived at the house. Baby also proceeds to play with a stuffed doll and then throws it at the dead cheerleader, tied to her bed.
