Interesting Questions, Facts, and Information

    Iron Giant, The

What was the little boy's name? The Iron Giant

Hogarth. Dean was the name of his friend, and Kent was the name of the mean guy from the military who had bright blue eyes and orange hair.

What color were the bags on the back of Dean's motorcycle? The Iron Giant

brown. It was realy noticable when Dean was driving Hogarth to the giant after he had saved the two boys.

When Dean told the giant that he was a gun, the giant turned around and ran. Which way did he turn? The Iron Giant

left . I felt really bad for the giant. I don't think he really knew what was happening or why. It was sad.

What color were general Rogard's glasses? The Iron Giant

green. They were a cool color...they matched his uniform.

What color were Kent's eyes? The Iron Giant

blue. His eyes were a big, bright blue, and a little scary and weird looking.

How many stars did general Rogard have on his helmet? The Iron Giant

3 . You saw his helmet a few times.

Where was the giant's head at the end of the movie? The Iron Giant

Iceland. Very good ending. His head landed in Iceland, and he was "calling" all his parts to him. It was such a good ending.

What was the last thing the giant said to the little boy?The Iron Giant

No following.. This was a sad part. Hogarth had said the same thing to him at the beginning of the movie.

Who was the giant's favorite super hero? The Iron Giant

superman . He liked to pretend that he was Superman.

What is the main character's name? The Iron Giant

Hogarth. You can clearly get the character's name when Mansley is in his car ready to drive away, when he realizes that the broken B.B. Gun belonged to him.

What was set loose in the diner when Hogarth met Dean? The Iron Giant

A squirrel. This was one of the funniest parts of the movie. Hogarth realizes that the squirrel is missing, then mayhem arises in the diner.

What was the name of the laxitive bar that Hogarth crumbled on Mansley's ice-cream?The Iron Giant

Coco-Lax. For a while I didn't know what the label said, I just watched the effects. I also figured it out when Mansley kept running to the bathroom.

At the end of the movie, Hogarth gets a piece of the giant. What is it?The Iron Giant

The giant's jaw screw. I thought it was best for Hogarth not to have the piece because it would cause too much grief for him, but I was wrong. It was awfully nice of the general to look for the piece and give it to Hogarth.

What type of jump did Hogarth do into the lake? The Iron Giant

A cannonball. I would be quite scared jumping off a huge rock into the lake, especially with a huge giant following me.

Who was the voice of the giant?Iron Giant

Vin Diesel. The Giant was scary at first, but after the accident at the power plant, he became gentle and nice, not to mention amnesic. He didn't know who or what he was or where he came from. Because Hogarth helped him, the Giant followed Hogarth everywhere. Harry Connick Jr. was the voice of Dean. John Mahoney was the voice of General Rogard, and Christopher McDonald was the voice of Kent Mansley. Vin Diesel ("The Pacifier", "Chronicles of Riddick" and "xXx") was in fact the voice of the Giant.

What was Hogarth's last name?Iron Giant

Hughes. Hogarth was the name of the main character in the movie, the little boy who befriended the Giant. Hogarth was a well-behaved kid. He was smart - it was mentioned that he skipped a grade - and he liked adventure. Rogard was the name of the general. Kent Mansley was the government agent, "I'm Kent Mansley I work for the government." Jennifer Aniston was the voice of Annie Hughes (Hogarth's mom).

Near the beginning of the movie - what happened to Kent Mansley's car?Iron Giant

The giant ate it.. Mansley was the government agent who had been sent to investigate the explosion at the power plant, and other incidents. At the beginning of the movie, Mansley left his car alone, when he came back to it, the giant had taken a bite out of it. He left to get a witness and when he came back the car was gone; the giant had eaten the whole thing. It was nearer the end of the movie when he rear-ended the military truck in front of him.

Who or what did Kent Mansley work for?Iron Giant

The government. Though it was true that he served under General Rogard and reported to him, the correct answer was the government. In the movie, he clearly said, "I'm Kent Mansley. I work for the government." Dean was the owner of the junk yard. Kent was the antagonist in the movie, he wanted to destroy the Giant, and at the very end, almost got everyone in the town killed. Kent Mansley was sent by the government to investigate the explosion at the power plant, and other unexplained occurrences happening in the town.

What did Hogarth's mom do for a living?Iron Giant

She was a waitress at a café.. You first saw her behind the counter in the café she worked in, and you saw her serving coffee at one point in the scene. Also she was in her uniform throughout most of the movie. Her role was basically just a mom, she worried about Hogarth, yelled at him and tried to provide for him. She was the one who rented Kent Mansley, the government agent, a room in the Hogarth residence, thus giving him better access to Hogarth.

What was the name of the Metal Menace?Iron Giant

Atomo. The Metal Menace or Atomo, was a character from a comic book that was mentioned several times in the movie. Atomo was a villain, and he was mentioned to show the Giant's struggle between who he would choose to be (Superman) and what he was programed to be (a defensive weapon, a villain, like Atomo).

Finish the line. "You are who _______ ?"Iron Giant

you choose to be.. It was Hogarth's line, he said it to the Giant near the end of the movie. The military had been shooting at the Giant, who, reacting to the gun and the misconception that Hogarth was dead, shot back at them with lasers and other highly advanced weapons. Hogarth was trying to get the Giant to remember who he was and stop it from killing anyone so the military wouldn't destroy it.

What would cause the giant to become violent?Iron Giant

Guns. It was one of Dean's lines, "It's defensive, it reacted to the gun." Hogarth, Dean, and the Giant had been in the junkyard. Hogarth and the Giant had been playing a game. Hogarth had a toy gun, he pointed it at the Giant and lasers shot out of the Giant's eyes. Dean accused the Giant of being "a big gun" and told him to leave. After Hogarth went after the Giant, Dean found the toy gun and realized what had happened.

Toward the beginning of the movie, what kind of film was Hogarth's class watching?Iron Giant

Duck and Cover film. During the Cold War, with the looming threat of the Russian atomic bombs, students were made to watch "duck and cover" films. This basically told them that they would be safe from the effects of the atomic bomb if they ducked, and even safer if they found some kind of cover to duck under.

What was the name of the character who was the first person to see the Giant at the very beginning of the movie?Iron Giant

Earl Stutz. Earl Stutz only appeared in two scenes in the movie, but he had a very important role. He was the first to see the Giant, and he was the one who called the government, and got Mansley involved. M. Emmet Walsh was the voice of this character. Eli Marienthal was the voice of Hogarth, and Eli Martin is one of my good friends, but he has never starred in a movie.
