    Who is the actor who plays happy-go-lucky Skip Engblom, the fatherly-type, hippie surf shop owner and Zephyr skate team sponsor who gently motivates the Z-Boys to be the best? "Lords of Dogtown" - LOD

      Heath Ledger. Heath actually wore prosthetic teeth and adapted his accent to excellently mimic the real Skip Engblom, the Zephyr surf shop owner and founder of the Zephyr Skateboard Team. Skip Engblom also has a cameo in "Lords of Dogtown" as a starter at a skateboarding event.

    Who plays the hardcore, excitable, and caring skater Jay Boy Adams, the Z-Boy whose life was a little rough growing up in Venice Beach?"Lords of Dogtown" - LOD

      Emile Hirsch. Emile was actually the only actor who had skated before the film. The others had to learn. Emile even shaved his head in the film. Emile practiced skateboarding stunts by watching old videos of the real Jay Boy Adams.

    In the film, a toy company wants Jay Boy to be a sponsor for their product, and they want him to sing the theme song for a commercial. What is this toy?"Lords of Dogtown" - LOD

      Slinky. According to interviews with the real Jay Boy Adams, this never happened in real life. It is simply an addition to the story line of the movie. However, in the film, Jay Boy recites but refuses to sing the song or endorse the product.

      The Cove. The Cove was an actual location on Venice Beach at the site of the Ocean Park Amusement Pier which burned down in the early 1970's. This is actually explained and referred to in the movie. It provides the opening scene for the movie when the older surfers are surfing first, and then, they allow the young grommets (inexperienced surfers) - Tony, Jay Boy, and Stacy - to surf after they have finished.

    What material/type of skateboarding wheels revolutionized the industry as depicted in the movie? "Lords of Dogtown" - LOD

      Urethane. Urethane enabled skateboarders to do the tight turns and radical moves that they previously could only do on a surfboard. The actor/character who first shows Skip and the Z-Boys urethane skateboard wheels is comic Mitch Hedberg who passed away in March of 2005.

    What kind of tattoo does Jay Boy Adams have on his head?"Lords of Dogtown" - LOD

      A zipper. Jay Boy Adams actually does have a zipper tattooed on his head. It is only visible if his head is shaved, and Emile Hirsch (the actor who portrays Jay Boy) sports a copy of the tattoo in the film.

    When Jay's mother's boyfriend left them, what did he give to Jay?Lords of Dogtown

      His surfboard. This happened after Jay and the rest of the Zephyr team had just found out they were on the team. They were going to tell Jay's mom about it, but found that her boyfriend was going to leave her. Jay was very dissapointed about this and was very angry. The boyfriend wanted to leave because Jay's mom was crazy. He left Jay his surfboard and later on Jay destroyed it.

    Tony said that the bedroom smelled because of a cigar. What flavor was the cigar?Lords of Dogtown

      Cherry. After Tony and Kathy Alva had a party at their house, they were both in their rooms making out with their companions. Their father walked in and got on to both of them about the smell and the mess.

    There was only one girl on the Zephyr team. What was her name?Lords of Dogtown

      Peggy. When Skip and his pals were giving out the Zephyr t-shirts they called her by name, "Peggy". Plus, she was one of the only two Chinese people on the team.

    At the nationals (first competition), Stacy was disqualified for what?Lords of Dogtown

      Touching the ground with his hands. At the nationals, Stacy did a great performance and got an almost perfect score. A Judge walked up to him and the Zephyr guys and gals and told him that he would be disqualified because he touched his hands on the ground. Stacy told him every one did it, so Skip and Tony stepped in. Tony punched the guy.

    When the Z-Boys hadn't been showing up for practice, Skip found them at an eatery. What did Jay say Tony "got", when he was hit in the face by Skip?Lords of Dogtown

      "You just got patty slapped". The guys were eating burgers and talking about their new extravaganzas with the empty pools, when Skip came up and said, "Where ya been?" They starting laughing at him, so Skip slapped Tony in the face with a hamburger patty. Then Skip ended up taking Tony's burger. "He took my burger!"

    Tony Hawk had a very funny cameo appearance, where he was taking pictures with Stacy. What was his proffesion?Lords of Dogtown

      Astronaut. This happened when the boys started to become famous and Stacy got to take pictures with the Astronaut, Tony Hawk. Stacy also got to be on the show "Charlie's Angels".

    Who went out with Kathy first?Lords of Dogtown

      Stacy. Kathy was with Stacy first, but when he didn't make out with her in front of her brother, he ran off and Jay stepped in. She obviously wouldn't be going out with Tony; that was her brother! Sid hooked up with one of her friends.

    Who sadly died at the end?Lords of Dogtown

      Sid. At the end of the movie, Sid finally convinced his father to let him and his friends skate in the pool. Shortly after the Dogbowl, Sid died of brain cancer.
