trailer park. In the beginning of the movie, he asks Maggie to drop him off at his house, which he says is a huge mansion. At the end of the movie when Lucas is in the hospital, Maggie, Cappie, and Rina go to Lucas' real house to see his parents and we find out he really lives in a trailer park.
Margaret. Maggie is Lucas' love interest in the movie. She's the new girl who has just moved into town. Lucas asks Maggie "Is Maggie short for Margaret?" while they are in the sewer listening to the orchestra play in the park.

Lucas. Lucas and Maggie are arguing because Lucas has the idea that football, cheerleaders, etc. are superficial; and to his dismay, Maggie tries out for cheerleading. Maggie stomps off mad at Lucas, and Lucas is mad at her.
This is quite an entertaining and funny argument actually.
No. In the beginning of the movie, we see Lucas with a net and jars. He comes across Maggie and they start a conversation.
Maggie: "You collect insects?"
Lucas: "No, to collect them, you have to kill them. I just look at them."
Rina. Rina says this when the band geeks are talking about their old dead band teacher who killed himself because he was "in love". Rina says this because she isn't quite the most beautiful girl in the world. She believes in true love and that everyone should be able to love. She likes Lucas.
Ben. Ben is Lucas' best friend and is in the video club. Ben runs into the bandroom while the students are playing and announces this. The next scene shows Lucas trying out for football. Ben is the comic relief in the movie.
It occurs through the process of natural selection.. Later in the movie, Lucas becomes mad at Cappie and Maggie because they share a kiss and Lucas' heart is broken! Maggie later finds him one day after school and talks to him about the situation.
Prone. Coach says "prone" and finally lets Lucas on the field during the football game in which Cappie's team is getting beaten badly. The whole crowd is quite upset or surprised at this decision.
