She also played the title role in the "Our Miss Brooks" T.V. series (1952-1956). She always seemed to have the snappiest dialogue in everything she did.
yes. Ann Blyth played Veda Pierce Forrester. She was born 8/16/1928 in Mount Kisco, NY. She was 17 years old when she made Mildred Pierce. Some of her film credits include "The Great Caruso" (1951) and "Kismet" (1955). There are two slapping scenes in "Mildred Pierce". Mildred slaps Veda when Veda says "You've never spoken of your people, where you came from, that's natural, perhaps that's why Father"...SMACK. And the second one, Veda slaps Mildred and knocks her down after Mildred tears up the settlement check. Veda says to Mildred "You'll never be more than a common frump who's father lived over a grocery store and who's mother took in washing". What a nasty, thankless child. Maybe she was playing in "King Lear" and didn't know it.
She says she's going to have a baby. Theodore "Ted" Ellison Forrester was played by John Compton. He was born on 6/21/1923 in Lynchburg, TN. He's going to divorce you and marry me". Monte, after Mildred leaves, puts the nails in his own coffin by replying "Just where did you get the idea I'm going to marry you?" Veda: "Oh Monte, don't joke like that." Monte: "You think I'm going to marry you - you're very much mistaken. You don't think I could be in love with a rotten little tramp like you?" Dimitri Miediev. This takes place in the first scene of the movie. As soon as the name is given, Ethan hands him a spiked drink, and the Russian promptly falls unconscious. Ethan than injects Claire with a drug to wake her up from her induced unconsciousness, which was enforced to give the impression to the Russian that she was dead.
Cruel and unusual. This takes place when Jim is Briefing the IMF (Impossible Mission Force) team on the mission they are to undertake. Ethan then remarks that it tasted better than the sludge they had to drink in the barn in Kiev.
American Embassy in Prague. It wasn't successful. As anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of the movie knows, every member of the IMF team is killed, apart from Ethan and Claire, although it is later discovered that Jim was also never killed; he merely faked his own death.
Jack Harmon. After he lost control of the elevators, Jack was trapped on a quickly ascending one. He was slammed into the ceiling of the elevator shaft and was killed.

David Wenham is well-known to Australian audiences as "Diver Dan" in the popular television series "Sea Change".
