No Country for Old Men
No one. Not only does Anton Chigurh survive, but he takes the two million in drug money for himself and escapes the law. Best Picture? Absolutely.
Joel and Ethan Coen. The Coen brothers shared directing duties and won the Oscar for Best Director. They also won for Best Adapted Screenplay. Prior Coen gems include "Fargo" and "Blood Simple".
El Paso. El Paso is the closest city with an international airport. The plan is to get Carla Jean and the money to safety. Llewelyn intends to stay behind to take care of Anton Chigurh. This is a cardinal error.

In the air duct. He goes to the extreme length of pushing the satchel as far in the duct as he can, so he can access it from another room if need be. This idea serves him well....the first time.

No. Once Chigurh is certain that Carson doesn't have the money, he justs kills him. Carson Wells is hired to track down the money and retrieve it after there is no word from Chigurh and his men are found dead. He is very slick and well dressed and compares Chigurh to the Bubonic Plague.
Cormac McCarthy. McCarthy won the Pulitzer Prize in 2007 for "The Road". He is known for western and Southern Gothic novels. He agreed to his first television interview with Oprah Winfrey on June 5, 2007. The interview took place in the library of the Sante Fe Institute.
Coin toss. Chigurh flips a coin, covers it with his hand and instructs the would-be victim to "call it". If they call it right they live, but if wrong, he kills the person. A 50/50 chance is better than what most get around this guy.
Carla Jean. Carla Jean Moss is a simple woman who lives with her husband in a trailer. She is sent to stay with her mother by Llewelyn once he realizes he is being tracked, but comes into play again later in the film. Kelly MacDonald stars as Carla Jean Moss. She was born in Glasgow, Scotland on February 23, 1976. She got her big acting break along with Ewen McGregor in "Trainspotting". She has also done fine work in "Elizabeth" and "Finding Neverland".
Javier Bardem. Javier Bardem won Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Anton Chigurh, a killer with no conscience who will stop at nothing to recover the drug money. He is a professional hitman hired to retrieve a satchel full of money which also contains a transponder for tracking. He does not hesitate to remove those who stand in his way. Bardem was born March 1, 1969 in Spain. This is his breakthrough role in the U.S.
All of these (Dead bodies, Large quantities of heroin, Over two million dollars in a satchel). Llewelyn Moss is a welder and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He is an avid hunter and is out hunting pronghorn when he makes the discovery. Josh Brolin plays Llewelyn Moss. Brolin was born February 12, 1968 in Los Angeles, California. He also starred in "American Gangster" in 2007. He is involved in auto racing and has many tattoos.
Near the beginning of the film, when Chigurh first started to track where the money may have gone, he was sent out to the scene of the drug deal gone bad and found Moss's truck. a screwgie. While he did use a coin to unscrew the heating duct in his hotel room, he asked for a screwgie to take the VIN ID plate off of the truck. Then, he capped the two guys he rode up to the truck with.
Moral of the movie: Don't mess with Chigurh.

Towards the end of the movie Chigurh caught up with Moss's wife Carla Jean. He told her he can't let her go because he "gave his word" to someone that he'd kill her. Who did he give his word to? | No Country for Old Men

Llewelyn Moss. Chigurh told her that he gave Llewelyn the opportunity to save her by just giving up and giving Anton the money. Instead, Llewelyn chose to try to fight it out with Chigurh. So, basically Chigurh had to kill her then; however, he did the coin toss for her. You didn't see what she called it, but it was quite obvious that he wound up killing her.
Towards the middle of the film, there was a shootout between Moss and Chigurh. In the shootout between Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin) and Anton Chigurh, who managed to get shot? | No Country for Old Men

Both Moss and Chigurh. While trying to escape, Moss got shot by Chigurh in the right side near his hip. Later in the shootout, Moss managed to shoot Chigurh, we later saw that Chigurh was struck in his left leg.
Woody Harrelson played Carson Wells, a character sent to take out Chigurh. When talking to Stephen Root's character in his office, Wells was asked just how dangerous was he (Chigurh). Harrelson replied, "Compared to what?" and then compared Chigurh to what disease? | No Country for Old Men

Bubonic Plague. He was introduced to us in the middle of the movie, brought in by Tom Root's character to retrieve the money and kill Chigurh. Wells may have laughed about Chigurh, but Anton got the last laugh by killing Wells.

In heating ducts. He used elaborate planning and self-made tools to place the satchel in the heating ducts of the motels he stayed in. Chigurh was clever enough to discover Moss's sneaky methods.
While making small talk with Chigurh, the gas station owner made an assumption about the weather where he thought Chigurh was from because of Chigurh's plates. Where did the gas station owner think Chigurh was from? | No Country for Old Men

Dallas. Chigurh merely had stolen a car with Dallas plates. The vehicle belonged to a victim of Chigurh's from his escape earlier in the novel/film.

bag of nuts. He popped them in his mouth as he grilled the owner about when he closed and where he lived. The owner got more and more nervous. Rightly so, as it's not often a patron asks when do you go to sleep so that he can come back to your store then.

handcuffs/air gun. After he slipped his cuffs under his legs to the front of his body, he choked the guard to death with them. Then once he had retrieved his air gun, he used the cop's car to flag down an unsuspecting driver and shot him in the head with the air gun.
The movie began with Tommy Lee Jones' character narrating the movie. He mentioned that he testified in the case of the murderer of a child. How did the criminal react? | No Country for Old Men

He said he had thought about killing for a while.. The killer further revealed he would do it all again if he got out. We saw shots of the Texas horizon and landscape while Tommy Lee Jones narrated. This was all foreshadowing of Tom Bell's concern with the changing times he was living in.
