Requiem for a Dream
Harry. Harry is the son of Sara Goldfarb, and a junkie who lives with his girlfriend Marion, played by Jennifer Connelly.
Tappy Tibbons. Tappy runs the show "JUICE" or "Join Us In Creating Excellence."
Drives them crazy. Number Three itself is never actually metioned on the show, but Tappy says, "this drives most people crazy."
Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. This is mentioned several times during the course of the movie.
A new television. Sara loves to watch television, and Harry says he owes it to her after all the wear and tear her old set got from him schleping it back and forth.
An infected shooting vein. Harry has to have his arm amputated after it grows large and horribly infected.
"Okay for work.". The prison doctors are checking everyone to make sure they can do work.
Red. She always talks about wearing the red dress, the one she wore to Harry's graduation.
Orange. She says to her friend, "If this is a red, then tell me, what's orange?"
She designs clothing. There are several shots in which you see her surrounded by pictures of clothing cut from newspapers.

Coney Island. In the days of her glory, Coney Island was one of the most famous amusement parks in the world.
Ellen Burstyn. Ellen Burstyn was also nominated for her performance in the 1980 film "Resurrection".
Cameron Diaz. Darren Aronofsky had asked Jared not to have sex with Cameron during the filming of the movie so Jared could understand the feeling of addiction.
Macy's. Harry mentions to his mother that its from Macy's.

Verazzano Narrows. You only see the bridge for a split second.
no refined sugar. This rule was very tough for Sara.
Consorting. This is only mentioned one time, during the scene where Harry and Tyrone are walking home from prison. Tyrone was up for parole on consorting due to the gang incident that happened in his presence.
Seymour. Harry's father's name is mentioned several times by Sara (Harry's mother). Harold is Harry's real name. Harry's father had passed away long ago, and we only see a picture of Seymour.
Silver. Contrary to popular belief, Marion's last name is in fact SILVER. If you watch the credits, it clearly states so. Most people believe the name to be SILVA, however that is only because the New York accents presented by Sara and Harry pronounce it this way.
Green. Although all the choices WERE in fact pills that she was instructed to take, the green one was for night time. She also explains this to Harry when he confronts her about being on "uppers".
Snorting. This is shown several times throughout the movie, although many people get confused as to "who" is doing it "when." But if you watch the eye colors of who is getting dialated, you can tell when it is Marion. Harry, Tyrone and Marion have different colored eyes, so you always know it's Marion when you see the green eyes.
"Juice by Tappy!". We've got a winner! This show was based on a 3 step weight loss program by Tappy Tibbons. He would have guests come on the show that used the program. This was NOT the show that Sara applied for.
Waldbaum's. This is mentioned a couple of times during the grocery store scene. At first, they do not see anybody. Then they notice that the action is taking place in the loading areas in the back of the store. Of course the charade goes sour, leaving Harry and Tyrone empty handed.
934-8777. The phone number is seen a couple of times during the movie when Harry writes it on the back of a photograph of himself and Marion, and when Marion makes the call that sealed her fate.
Spring. Summer is the beginning, when everything seems to be going perfectly for each character. Fall is when everything begins to literally fall. Winter is the plummetting season where the characters find their horrible fates.
Winter. Although Fall is when things start going awry, Winter is when everything completely crashes and burns. The climatic points of the movie all take place in Winter. We never see the Spring season.
Arnold. This actor, Sean Gullette, was also the star of the critically acclaimed film "PI", also by Darren Aronofsky. His name is mentioned several times throughout the movie, and during his dinners with Marion.
Mr. Rabinowitz. This actor, Mark Margolis, was also in the Darren Aronofsky film "PI". His name is only mentioned two times by Sara, when she goes to buy her TV back from him.
