Tyler Hoechlin . Tyler beat out over 2,000 people for the role of a lifetime. Coincidently, Tyler plays shortstop in baseball and so does his character Michael Jr.
No. John Rooney is kind of a surrogate father to him. Mr. Rooney helped him out and gave him a home and a job. They are more father and son than John is to his real son.
Jennifer Jason Leigh. Bonnie Hunt played Tom's wife in 'The Green Mile', Helen Hunt played Tom's girlfriend in 'Cast Away' and Robin Wright Penn played Tom's girlfriend in 'Forrest Gump'.
