 Rock, The
Henderson's. Mason saved Mr. Henderson's head.
bowling arm. Mason says this to Womack after throwing him off the balcony.
butthole. Mason gets himself and Stanley out of their cells.
heart. This is said in the beginning by the trainee when Stanley is trying to diffuse the bomb.
lower lighthouse. Hummel tells Stanley this so he can get to it before the bad guys.
Kansas. Mason hid the microfilm in a church pew.
VX Gas. One of his soldiers drops a bead of the poison on the floor, causing it to break. They have to lock him inside, and he is killed rather violently by the gas.

Hayden Sinclair. Mr. Sinclair was too young to fully realize the extent of the Vietnam War, which caused Hummel to explode at him.
Barbara. Her name is engraved on her headstone, which Hummel visits in the opening scenes of the film. He leaves flowers and a ring at the gravesite.
in his sock drawer. He left it in his sock drawer when he left for San Francisco, so he had to borrow one from an agent working hotel duty.
green. After injecting atropene into his heart to save himself from the VX gas, Stanley activates the green flares to signal that the threat had been neutralized. Unfortunately, the F/A-18's had already dropped some bombs, and he was blown into the ocean. Luckily, Mason knew how to swim and was able to save him.

Points his gun at Goodspeed. In many of Connery's movies, he points his gun at the characters who get on his nerves.
his wife's. The name of his wife was Barbara Hummel. As he puts the flowers down, he also explains that he can now proceed with his plan to steal the rockets with V-X gas and kisses the grave right afterwards. The following scene depicts Hummel and his men, from the United States Marine Corps, breaking into a military base and stealing those dangerous weapons.
His girlfriend Carla thinks it's too expensive.. After Goodspeed receives it, his colleague and good friend Marvin is curious about why does he received it there, at work. Goodspeed explains that his girlfriend Carla doesn't like the idea of buying an LP for $600.
Frye and Darow. Captains Frye and Darrow accompany Hummel for their first time, as is also mentioned by the General himself. Most of the other men have already served with him, notably Major Tom Baxter, who is his best friend. Hummel has seen combat in Vietnam, Grenada and the Desert Storm operation. Frye and Harrow are two of the toughest marines in the movie, determined to do almost anything to get their money and if not, kill the hostages and fire off the captured rockets. At the end, both are killed by Doctor Goodspeed.

coin. The FBI tries to convince Mason, an imprisoned British ex-agent and the only men who has escaped from Alcatraz, to help them with the infiltration of Alcatraz. Mason suspects his long-time enemy, Womek, to be responsible for the operation. He thus moves to the glass, uses the coin to draw a little circle on it and breaks it with his hand only to discover the FBI director behind it.

Fairmont . John Mason agrees that he will help in the planning of the Alcatraz infiltration, but only if all of his wishes are fulfilled. After finishing his stay in the interrogation room, he says that he wants an apartment at hotel Fairmont, since it's one of the best hotels in the city, a hairdresser, shower and new suit. He gets everything he asks for. The whole floor of the hotel is closed due to Mason's arrival. Enjoying his nice spacious apartment, Mason is always surrounded by FBI agents. This soon turns into a dramatic scene: he attacks Womek, escapes and is being chased down in the streets of San Francisco.

Shephard. Lieutenant Shephard (played by Danny Nucci) is a member of Navy Seals team under Commander Anderson (Michael Biehn). Right before the mission is launched, he is ordered to watch Mason for the whole time. He is the last one to get killed by Hummel's renegades. The Navy Seal team under Commander Anderson is ambushed and massacred by Hummel's dog soldiers, leaving only Mason and Godspeed alive. These two later decide that they will cooperate and stop Hummel's diabolic plan.
