How many coins did President Johnson give to Bud Nesbitt, before the Apollo 13 mission? | Rocket Man

3. Bud Nesbitt was a member of the ill-fated ground control team for Apollo 13. The President gave him three coins. The first one was for honor, which he gave to Armstrong. A second one stood for freedom, that one was given to Lovell. The third one that stood for bravery, Bud had kept for himself. He passes the coin for bravery on to Fred, stating that it hadn't done him much good.

What is it that forces the Mars team to abort the mission? | Rocket Man
|
The windstorms are coming early. The Martian windstorms are coming earlier than anyone could have predicted. Bill is all for staying to finish their mission, but Julie realizes the danger they are in, and votes to abort the mission. Bill leaves early the next morning to collect the rock samples that they traveled to Mars to get. While out collecting samples, the winds do indeed come early. The Land Rover turns over trapping Bill underneath. Fred saves him and is able to bring him safely back, but by this time the winds are so strong it is practically impossible for them to launch. After several tense minutes they are able to launch and get safely back to the shuttle.

CNN. Fred obviously has no idea what is going on at this point. The moment of lift-off gives him a severe anxiety attack!
What does Fred serve Julie, Bill and himself the first night they are in space? | Rocket Man
|
toothpaste, hemorrhoid cream and laxative. Prime rib, potatoes and broccoli are what they are supposed to be eating, but they are replaced by Ulysses. Julie receives the toothpaste, Bill the hemorrhoid cream and Fred gets the laxative, which makes for a very uncomfortable few minutes for him.
What color is Julie's dress at the dance scene, at the end of the movie? | Rocket Man
|
Gold. Fred's tux is silver. He styled their formal wear from the space blankets on the way to Mars while the others were sleeping. He also used the time to polish up a few of his dance steps!
What was Fred Z. Randall's catch phrase in this movie? | Rocket Man
|
"It wasn't me!". He said this all through the movie. Whenever he caused an accident, he said it. As Commander Overbeck was about to be the first to walk on Mars, Fred slipped and touched the ground before him. The newspaper headlines read "It wasn't me!", the first words said on Mars!
When Commander William Overbeck visited Fred Randall at his office, Fred commented on the Commander's eight shuttle missions. What was Overbeck's reply? | Rocket Man
|
"Nine actually, but who's counting?". Randall- "Eight shuttle missions. Eight of them!"
Overbeck- "Nine actually, but who's counting?"
Randall- "Well, apparently you are my friend."
He compared his meeting William Overbeck to a paleontologist hunting dinosaurs his whole life and finally meeting one. Classic line!
When Fred Randall got into the centrifuge for the G force test, he told Gordon A. Peacock he shouldn't have just eaten what? | Rocket Man
|
Liverwurst and headcheese sandwich. This was kind of gross, but still funny. Overbeck commented on how Gordon seemed to have beaten his problem with motion sickness. That was before Fred's comment, of course. The centrifuge tested the amount of G force a body could withstand by spinning the subject at extreme speeds. Fred reached 7 G's, beating Overbeck's record of 6!
How many months did it take to get to Mars? | Rocket Man
|
8 months. The crew used sleep chambers which allowed them to hibernate for the journey. Ulysses had gotten into Fred's chamber and shut the door, leaving Fred to attempt to fit into the smallest chamber which belonged to the chimp. It didn't work, so Fred was left to entertain himself for the entire eight-month trip to Mars. This also happened at the end of the movie for the trip home.
While Fred prepared dinner on the shuttle, Ulysses replaced the food tubes with different tubes. Julie got toothpaste, Overbeck got hemorrhoid cream, and Fred ended up with laxative. What did Ulysses get for dinner? | Rocket Man
|
Monkey Fruitcake. This was another great scene! Fred couldn't understand what anyone was saying because their mouths were full. The laxative kicked in and he rushed to the lavatory. He fell into the shuttle's chemical toilet and his skin turned blue. The President saw him during a live transmission to the world and asked why he looked like a Smurf! This lead to Fred's rendition of "I've got the Whole World in My Hands". We never did see Ulysses eat the fruitcake in the movie.
While walking with Commander Overbeck on Mars, Fred Randall spoke about one of his childhood fears. What was he afraid was under his bed? | Rocket Man
|
A Baker. Randall- "When I was a kid at night I used to think that there was a baker under my bed. Did you ever have anything under your bed?"
Overbeck- "No."
Randall- "Well did you ever bend down and look?"
Overbeck- "No."
Randall- "Well how do you know there wasn't a baker under your bed?"
Overbeck- "Randall, shut up."
This was just a weird and crazy conversation.
