December 19. There is a sign both inside and outside the Cobra Kai Dojo displaying the date of the upcoming karate tournament. A reference to this event and these characters is made years later in the Showtime original series "Weeds".

Judy. At the very beginning of the film you hear Daniel say goodbye to Judy as they drive away. Later on, Daniel's mother asks if Ali is as pretty as Judy and Daniel responds with "She buries Judy!"
Some pie. "Have some pie, I made it myself!"
Soccer. Daniel is a good soccer player but he manages to get into a fight on the pitch with some of the Cobra Kai gang which results in him being sent off.
Fungus. "I dunno what she sees in him."

knitting class. The sensai tells Mr. Miyagi that Daniel and the Cobra Kai gang can settle their differences by fighting at the dojo.
Brown belt or above. Mr. Miyagi tells the offical that Daniel is a black belt fighter and while the official isn't looking, takes a spare black belt from the offical's bag.

Detroit. Daniel gets to know the cars well after having to wash and wax them as part of his karate training.
Yellow. Daniel choose a yellow vintage car from Mr. Miyagi's collection as a gift for his birthday.
Mills. Ali Mills is a girl from the rich side of town. The fact that Daniel lives in Reseda, a lower class area, does not impress Ali's parents.
