'Perfect Day' by Lou Reed. All four songs are in the 'Trainspotting' soundtrack but 'Perfect Day' was the one that was playing. This song became popular after the film's release and a charity single was released.

Football/Soccer. The team they are playing against are the Carlton Athletic team who,in real life,are a group of people helping each other get over heroin addiction through playing sport. They taught the actors in the film about the experience of shooting heroin.

Twice. The train is seen pulling away from the station, as they set off on their walk in the great outdoors and also when they go back to Scotland for Tommy's funeral. Why the film is called 'Trainspotting' is never explained but if you read the book by Irvine Welsh, there is a chapter called 'Trainspotting at Leith Central Station' which is presumed to be the reason for the title 'Trainspotting'.
Hibs. There is a Hibs flag in Renton's bedroom. Hibs and Hearts are both teams from Edinburgh and Celtic and Rangers are Glasgow.
Sean Connery. Swanney tells us this at the beginning of the film and Sick Boy also does a brilliant Sean Connery impression, when he and Renton are about to shoot the Pitbull.
Danny Boyle. Danny Boyle directed the film, Andrew Macdonald produced it and Steven Spielberg and Ken Loach had nothing to do with it. Danny Boyle has also directed '28 Days Later' and 'Millions'.

The Volcano. You can see the name Volcano when Renton is first talking to Diane, just before they get in the taxi together. Although the film is supposed to be set in Edinburgh the Volcano bar is actually in Glasgow.
Francis. His real name is Francis but he is usually called Begbie or Franco. He is played by Robert Carlyle who has also starred in films such as 'The Full Monty'.
