Gay and away. Since Patti is pregnant, she and her girlfriend decide to give Frances their trip to Tuscany. The only catch is that it is a gay tour of Tuscany.

Bird droppings hit Frances on the head.. Yes, this is apparantly a good thing, at least in Tuscany.
washing machine.. It was lifted up in the air and fried to a crisp, after which Frances frantically jumped into bed with an unsuspecting owl.
Marcello was his name.. Martini was the realtor who sells her Bramisole and also becomes her friend.
She decides she doesn't want to be a mom.. This seems very ironic since Patti mentions in the restaurant at the beginning of the movie that this was the fifth try for her to become pregnant.
It even smells purple.. Rodney, one of the tourists on the bus with Frances, asks her to write a note to his mom describing Tuscany. He gets angry with Frances because he says his mom will never believe he wrote it.
Alexandria. We do not know the reason for her choice.
We are never told.. The truth is we never find out who he is.
Poland. Only Pawel was able to speak a bit of English. The other two were only fluent in their native language. Therefore, Frances knew that she had to learn Polish in order to communicate with them.
George of the Jungle. Pawel and Frances were watching it together, until he noticed that the girl that he liked was there also. Frances told him to go be with her, and she left shortly after that.
Bramasole (Desire the Sun). The villa is called 'Bramasole' because it is situated on the countryside that receives the majority of the sun throughout the day.
White. White symbolizes purity, so maybe Marcello was thinking of a long-term relationship with Frances. That was until Patti came and permanently stayed with Frances. Then the relationship between them fizzled.
one grape. The other items were 10,000 empty wine bottles and every issue of the Italian newspaper printed in 1958, along with a few unruly creatures that had inhabited the villa before she had moved in. The previous owners made their own wine, so that explains the leftover empty wine bottles that were left behind. There was only one grape left on the vine in the vineyard when she moved in because grapes were not in season at the time. That one little grape showed that the vineyard was still able to flourish at the right time. As for the newspapers, no one really learns the reason why the owners wanted every paper that was printed in 1958.
Limoncello. It's a drink that his family makes, which consists of alcohol, sugar, lemon juice, lemon rind and water.
