When they cut her open, however, they found out it was Crohn's disease. Anastacia is one of the few people with Crohn's disease that doesn't have a lot of side-effects. She doesn't have an enlarged face, she is not losing weight, and her hair is not falling out. She only has to be careful about what she eats because she does have a low resistance. In early 2004, Anastacia was also diagnosed with breast cancer, but because of early detection, Anastacia came out on top and has beaten the disease back into remission.

      MTV's The Cut. Anastacia competed in the one season "MTV's The Cut" was on the air (hosted by the late Lisa Lopes). She ended up the runner-up act out of literally THOUSANDS of contestants. Celebrities were calling her to congratulate her-- among them, Elton John and Michael Jackson who wanted to sign her to his new label. Talk about a BIG break!
