Bronx, New York. Mary J. Blige was born on January 11, 1971 in Bronx, New York. She is the second child out of four. She moved to Savannah, Georgia during her childhood and later moved to Yonkers, New York. She lived in the projects which were called "Slow Bomb".
Three. She has two sisters and a brother. Her oldest sister, LaTonya, is her best friend and manager. She has a younger sister named Jonquell and a half-brother named Bruce.
False. Mary made her demo tape when she was seventeen years old. She made the demo in a karaoke booth at a mall. The demo was passed to ger mother's boyrfiend, James Dillard. James paseed it to Jeff Redd. Eventually it was sent to the president of Uptown Records, Andre Harrell. When he heard the tape he signed her a record label.
"Queen Of Hip Hop Soul". Mary J. Blige was given the title "Queen Of Hip Hop Soul" for selling two million copies of her album "What's The 411?", which was released in 1992. She recieved this name from her record company.
