Portobello Cafe. The "Portobello Cafe" was owned by Nick Cave and former "INXS" singer Michael Hutchence. It was closed after the death of Michael.
Paula Yates and Michael Hutchence. That was an easy one! He is godfather to Heavenly Hirani Tigerlilly. Nick and Michael were good friends.

Ghosts...of the Civil Dead. This movie was realeased in 1988. It is set in a prison in the middle of the desert. It was directed by John Hillcoat. "Dandy", "Johnny Suede" and "To Have and to Hold" are among the other films that Nick has either acted in or composed for.
Henry Lee. I love this song. It can be found on "Murder Ballads" which was released in 1996. It tells the tale of a woman murdering a man after he refuses her.

The Carny. This album was originally released as two 12" EPs.
A beautiful circus aerialist plays their song 'The Carny' in Wim Wenders' film 'Der Himmel Uber Berlin' (Wings of Desire), she later meets her angelic admirer at one of their concerts, where they perform 'From Her to Eternity'.

Tupelo. 'The Firstborn is Dead' was released in 1985. The lyrics are full of imagery about the birth of Elvis, who was born in Tupelo, and about the second coming of Christ.
Cave studied Painting and Fine Art after leaving school at the Caulfield Institute of Technology, but dropped out after a year to concentrate on music.
