night is a wire. Duran Duran was formed in 1978. The original band members included: Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, Simon Colley, and Stephen Duffy. Colley was on drums and Duffy was the lead singer. Andy Wicket replaced Simon Colley, and Wicket was replaced by Alan Curtis. Jeff Thompson replaced Stephen Duffy. Finally, Alan Curtis and Jeff Thompson left and were replaced by Simon Le Bon and Andy Taylor. By this time, Roger Taylor had also joined the band. The final layout of Duran Duran then debuted with 'Planet Earth' in 1981.

Burning the ground. The album 'A View To A Kill' reached number one on the American charts on July 13, 1985.
Strut on a line. In 2001, the original members: Simon Le Bon, Andy Taylor, Roger Taylor, Nick Rhodes, and John Taylor reunited, and Duran Duran is ready for more action in years to come.
Use It. Guitarist Andy Taylor left the band in 1985. He recorded with Power Station and then tried to pursue a career solo. He gathered with bassist and keyboardist from Missing Persons; that's when MP's guitar Warren Cuccurullo went to Duran Duran to fill the spot left by Andy.
Power Station and Arcadia. Arcadia had a hit with "Election Day", while Power Station, fronted by Robert Palmer, had a couple of hits with "Bang-A-Gong" and "Some Like It Hot".
"A View To A Kill". The Pet Shop Boys actually cut a demo for "A View To A Kill", but the movie producers didn't like it so they went with another song by Duran Duran.

The Wedding Album. This album marked a come back of sorts for the band, as "Ordinary World" was their biggest hit in years. It's also known as "The Wedding Album" because of the wedding pictures on the album cover and the first Duran Duran album was also self-titled, so it helps prevent confusion.
"Thank You". Duran Duran doing a cover of Public Enemy's "911 Is A Joke" seems like a joke in itself, eh?
