camp. Ben Moody heard Amy playing Meatloaf's "I'd do anything for love" on the piano in a youth camp, and walked over to her. Then she sang a few of the songs she had written herself, and Ben was blown away. He convinced her to join a band with him, and that's how Evanescence was created.
