2002. “Shine” was a 2002 EP release despite the 2001 copyright. It was an independent release that charted at the over all #2 position in the same year. This was the first time Cyndi ever released any media without the assistance of a major label.
All Through the Night. “All Through the Night” (1984) was the title of a single on the “She’s So Unusual” (1983) album, not the title of an album itself. It was released as a single without a video to prove that her voice could surpass her image in the early days of MTV. “A Night to Remember” (1989) and “Hat Full of Stars” (1993) were both follow up LP releases and never charted as high as “She’s So Unusual” (6x platinum).
She's So Wonderful. One of the big wigs at Portrait Records exclaimed that Cyndi was “so wonderful” when he heard a demo tape of one of her tracks. Her manager at the time (David Wolff) retorted, “she’s so unusual”. They tossed the two around as ideas for the title of her first album. The rest is history…

f. While our beloved Cyn did appear in the movie, she had no speaking parts. She did however sing a few lines to "The Goonies 'R' Good Enough" (the theme song released in the same year) while the Goonie gang watched and listened to her on the T.V. She appeared nowhere else in this movie.

I Drove All Night. “I Drove All Night” (a top 10 single in the US) was the first US single from this album; it was originally written for Roy Orbison, but he didn't record it until after Cyndi. “My First Night Without You” was the second single. “Heading West” and "A Night to Remember" were also singles internationally from the above mentioned LP, but not in the US. All were released in 1989.

Girls Just Want To Have Fun. “Hey Now (Girls Just Want To Have Fun)" (1994) was the remake of “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” (1983). It is said that Cyndi was tired of singing the same song and wanted to recreate it and give it new life.

Celine Dion. Celine Dion sang this song in French, entitled “Le Monde est Stone” (1991) before Cyndi recorded the english version in 1992. Cyndi's version was never released as a single in the US. It charted high in France where it climbed to number 2, staying three months in the top 5. Who says that the french don't like Americans?

t. Yes it is true! Our Cyn won for Outstanding Guest Actress In A Comedy Series for her second appearance in the “Mad About You” sitcom at the 1995 Emmy awards. She played the recurring role of Marianne Lugasso. It seems there isn’t anything Cyndi hasn’t done. Our beloved Cyn is a true American rags to riches story. In the end, and in her own words, she “still just wants to have fun”!
