Malmsteen, Yngwie

Mats Olausson. Mats was the longest serving band member. He first appeared on 1989's 'Eclipse' album and only departed after the disappointing 'War to End All Wars' album 12 years later.
Michael Vescera. Doogie sang later with the band, Mats Leven was a touring vocalist around 1998, and Mark Boals sang in 1986, then rejoined over a decade later for the 'Alchemy' and 'War to End All Wars' albums.
Eclipse. Svante Henrysson played bass on 'Eclipse'. Yngwie played on 'Seventh Sign' and 'Trilogy'. On 'Odyssey' the duties were shared
with ex-Ozzy Osbourne bassist Bob Daisley.
Goran Edman. Yngwie's management have been quoted saying that Goran Edman was the
only Yngwie vocalist that was not up to the challenge.
Joe Lynn Turner. His only album with the band.
Jens Johansson. Jens was/is a maniacally talented keyboardist.
Yngwie Malmsteen. Hence, the many doubled guitar/bass parts.
Jeff Scot Soto. Graham Bonnet sang with Yngwie in Alcatrazz. Mark Boals was yet to join the band.
Johann. His birth name was Lars Johann Yngwie Lannerback, but changed it when his parents got divorced. Malmsteen is his mother's maiden name.
Black Star. "Gimme Gimme Gimme" is a song, but not by him. "Back in Black" is by AC/DC, and "Smoke on the Water" is, of course, by Deep Purple.
It has a scalloped fretboard.. Yes, scallops are what's special about his fretboard. Apparently it's really hard to play scallops, as fast as Yngwie does.
Niccolo Paganini. Yes, Niccolo Paganini most influenced Yngwie. Angus Young is from AC/DC, Dave Mustaine is from Megadeth, and Les Paul, is an idol to most, but not an influence to Yngwie.
He saw a documentary on Jimi Hendrix the day he died.. The media once said, "The day that Jimi Hendrix died, is the same day that the guitar player of Malmsteen was born". Yngwie was only seven when he saw that documentary.
June 30th,1963. Yes, the last day of June 1963. March 15th was a made up date, September 18th was the day he picked up the guitar and December 25th is Christmas day.
