 Menudo
Small Fry. In Spanish, the word Menudo means "small fry" or "small change." The name was chosen because the boys were young and had to leave the group when they reached 16 years of age.
November 22, 1977 (Thanksgiving Day). Menudo was created November 22, 1977 on Thanksgiving Day in Puerto Rico. Edgardo Diaz, the founder of Menudo, brought together five young boys from his neighborhood to form the original Menudo, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Ricky Melendez. On July 10, 1984, Ricky Melendez was replaced by Ricky Martin. Martin debuted on stage at the Centro de Bellas Artes in San Juan.
Silver Spoons. Menudo made their first American appearance on the popular sitcom "Silver Spoons." They performed the song "Gotta Get On Moving."
If You're Not Here (By My Side). Menudo's first American hit was "If You're Not Here (By My Side)." It was released in 1984.
Johnny Lozada. 13 year-old Robby Rosa replaced Johnny Lozada on Valentine's Day 1984. Rosa debuted at Radio City Music Hall.
Ricky, Charlie, Miguel, Johnny and Ray. When they appeared on "Silver Spoons," Ricky Melendez, Miguel Cancel, Johnny Lozada, Charlie Rivera, and Ray Reyes were the group members. They performed at the end of the show, singing the song "Gotta Get On Moving."
Hold Me. In 1985, "Hold Me" was in the top 10 of the Billboard charts for two weeks.

Robi Draco Rosa. In the 1990's, Robby Rosa legally changed his name to Robi Draco Rosa. He married and has a son named Revel. He sings, writes songs for Ricky Martin, Julio Igleses and others; he also produces records.

MDO. By the late 1980s, Menudo slipped into obscurity. In the 1990s, they changed their name to MDO. Along with the name change, the old rules that forced members to leave also changed. They don't have to leave when they reach the age of 16, or grow too tall, or when puberty sets in.
Rawi Torres. His full name is Wilson Ramon Torres, and he is a doll!

Charlie. In the group he used Charlie Rivera; for a few years after he left he used and still uses Charlie Masso.
Robby, Charlie, Ricky, Roy, Ray. They sang "Like A Cannonball"!...The name of the episode was "Call Me Grandma".
Los Fantasmas. It is also the name of one of the group's oldest and favorite songs!
Johnny, Rene, Miguel, Charlie, Ray and Ricky. There was also another group of ex-members out there for a little while, "LUH-Los Ultimos Heroes". The members were Ruben, Angelo, Rawi, Sergio, and Robert.
