The New York Dolls. He also wrote a book about them, titled "The New York Dolls," at the age of nineteen.
Manchester. The band was based in Manchester, where Morrissey lived out his isolated teenage years, and where the Moors Murders took place.
Seventeen. His parents had never really been affectionate with one another, but they weren't divorced until Morrissey was seventeen years old.

Hand In Glove. "Hand In Glove" was the first single released by The Smiths.
Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now. The title is taken from Sandie Shaw's "Heaven Knows I'm Missing Him Now."
The Moors Murders. The Moors Murders were comitted by Ian Brady and Myra Hindley. Several children who were around Morrissey's age at the time were kidnapped and killed, their bodies buried in Saddleworth Moor north of Manchester.
Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want. In "Pretty in Pink", it was Duckie's theme song, and in "Ferris Bueller" it appeared in the museum scene.
