Anything Box. Yes, their album is a must have! (At least in my opinion.) Every now and then a band comes along and moves you, you memorize all the music and they vanish...that is certainly Anything Box. This electro-band is smooth and relaxing and can still inspire a jig in the tradition of Marc Almond.

Industrial. The mosh pit may have started with punk, but it was perfected by the electronic body music worshipping rivet-heads. Industrial music and electronic goth is still going strong with bands like Laether-Strip, Switch Blade Symphony and Clan of Xymox in the forefront. It has come a long way since the days of Front 242, a band still revered and suprised its fans by recently releasing an all new album entitled 'Pulse.'

KMFDM. KMFDM claims that their song 'KMFDM sucks' is a parody and that they actually listen to and enjoy Rap music. One of the translations for their acronym has been taken by many as a swipe at Depeche Mode using colorful language. The band has also denied this claim.
New Order. Joy Division's lead-singer Ian Curtis had an untimely death, the band reformed into the Constantinople of New Wave music, New Order.

Vince Clarke. Andy Bell and Vince Clarke are icons. Vince has the distiction of being an original member of Depeche although you would never know it.
Erasure shows are exactly that...instead of a concert, every song is performed with distinct props and costumes or a theme.

Robert Smith. The Cure has changed Band Members more often than we can keep track of but their sound is enduring. The Cure can also be considered as one of the forerunners of Goth. Seemingly enough, the band's front man Robert Smith is the most enduring member of the group and the best known.

Duran Duran. Duran Duran has more than a couple of classics that never seem to get old. One of the few bands which everyone knows at least one song or tune.

Red Flag. A band that had high hopes and instantly attracted a lot of electronic music fans in the early 1990's with "If I ever" and "Russian radio."
Alas, they too flew off into the Bermuda Triangle of the music industry never to be heard from again until 2001 with the re-release of newly mixed original songs.

"She is Beyond Good and Evil" - The Pop Group. The Pop Group played a funk-driven, cacophonous and jazzily abrasive cocktail of political engagement and avant-garde noise. Singer Mark Stewart later got involved with producer Adrian Sherwood's On-U Sound System brigade, that was formed around three musicians: guitarist Skip McDonald, bassist Doug Wimbish and drummer Keith LeBlanc. In the early 80s these three had worked as the Sugarhill Records house band and played on records by the Sugarhill Gang and Grandmaster Flash. With On-U sound they developed a very heavy dub variation, with lots of noise and political engagement. These days Wimbish plays with Living Colour. Mark Stewart has disappeared out of the spotlights since the mid-90s.

"Slippery People" - Talking Heads. In 1996 three members of the Talking Heads wanted to reform the band, but singer David Byrne didn't want anything to do with the whole thing. He didn't even want the others to use the band name. So Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz and Jerry Harrison decided to call themselves The Heads instead. They released one album, "No Talking, Just Head", on which they replaced Byrne with a different singer on each song: Johnette Napolitano (Concrete Blonde), Michael Hutchence (INXS), Debbie Harry, Richard Hell, Maria McKee (ex-Lone Justice), Shaun Ryder (Happy Mondays), Malin Anneteg, Ed Kowalczyk (Live), Gordon Gano (Violent Femmes), Andy Partridge (Xtc) and Gavin Friday (ex-Virgin Prunes). This star-studded cast could, however, not hide the fact that the album was crap.

Siouxsie and the Banshees' bass player Steve Severin discovered Altered Images and produced their two first singles, among which the gloomy classic "Dead Pop Stars". Singer Clare Crogan is also known as an actor. She starred in "Gregory's Girl" (1980) and in the TV series "Red Dwarf" as Dave Lister's heartthrob Kochanski.

"Prince Charming" - Adam and the Ants. Adam and the Ants best known song is probably "Stand and Deliver". At the end of 2003 Adam Ant rerecorded this song as "Save the Gorilla", a charity song for the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund.

"Final Day" - Young Marble Giants. Sadly Young Marble Giants had a very short lifespan. They released two singles, "Final Day" and "Testcard", and one full length album, "Colossal Youth". Their song "Credit in the Straight World" was covered by Courtney Love's band Hole, on their "Live Through This" album.
