Veronicas
Jessica Louise and Lisa Marie Origliasso. Before becoming the Veronicas, they were known simply as the Origliasso Twins at the events they performed at.
Christmas Day. Jess and Lisa were born on December 25th, 1984 to proud parents, Coleen and Joseph Origliasso.
Cybergirl. As well as performing at local events, "Cybergirl" gave Jess and Lisa a taste of what showbiz and performing is like.
The Secret Life of... The Veronicas. Their debut album "The Secret Life Of…" was released on October 17th, 2005 in Australia and includes their gold single “4ever”. It remained on the charts through 2006 with sales surpassing gold after just four weeks of release and earned them an ARIA nomination.
They came up with the name from a character in a comic book.. The Veronicas is a name they got from 'Archie' Comics character, Veronica Lodge. "Archie" Comics filed a lawsuit for trademark infringement over the band's name. Fortunately, all ended well after both sides reached their settlement and even had worked together for a cross-promotion deal. It was materialized in an issue of Veronica's comic book. It has also been said that they got their name from the movie "Heathers".
Albany Creek. Both of them were raised in the suburb of Albany Creek. This is very cool because I live in Albany Creek! They attended primary school at Ferny Hills State Primary and High School at Wavell, both local schools.
Kate DeAraugo: 'Faded'. "Australian Idol" employed the twins and one of their compositions appeared on "Australian Idol" winner Casey Donovan's 2004 debut album, 'For You'. They then wrote the song 'Faded' for 2006 Australian Idol, Kate DeAraugo and it soared up the charts. Good work girls!
