Rachel. Jacob worked for seven years for Laban to marry his beautiful daughter, Rachel. At the end of that time, he was permitted to marry Leah, the eldest daughter. Jacob was so in love with Rachel that he worked for seven more years to marry her, and she was his favorite wife. Zilpah and Bilhah were his concubines. Genesis 35:23.
17. Genesis 37:2 states that Joseph was seventeen, and later verses state that his brothers got the idea to kill him. They then amended the idea, and sold him to the Ishmaelites.
Reuben. Genesis 37:21 makes it clear that Reuben wanted Joseph gone, but not killed. And the brothers stripped off his robe and threw him into a pit.

Potiphar's wife. The story of Joseph and Potiphar's wife is a well-known one. A beautiful and powerful woman wants to sleep with the one young man who's unavailable to her. The theme occurs in the play 'Hippolytus', as well as many other times in ancient writings. In Joseph's case, trouble ensued as Potiphar's wife accused him of trying to rape her. Genesis 39:9.
the warden. Genesis 39:20-22...'But while Joseph was there in the prison, the LORD was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden. So the warden put Joseph in charge of all those held in the prison, and he was made responsible for all that was done there.'

The cupbearer. Two years after the cupbearer was released from prison, Pharaoh began to have disturbing nightmares and no one could tell him what they meant. The cupbearer was reminded of the boy in prison who had accurately explained his dreams, so he suggested to the king that the 'young Hebrew' be called to interpret. Genesis 41:9.

There would be seven years of plenty, then seven of famine. When Pharaoh saw that Joseph was wise, he immediately put him in charge of all of Egypt, second only to Pharaoh himself. Genesis 41:39-41.

Zaphenath-Paaneah. Pharaoh liked Joseph all right, but most self-respecting Egyptians would never serve a Hebrew shepherd-turned slave-turned vizier. So, he gave Joseph an Egyptian name (thought to mean 'savior'). Genesis 41:45.
Ephraim and Manasseh. Manasseh's name means 'forget' and Ephraim's means 'twice fruitful'. Joseph was blessed with two sons. Genesis 41:51-52.

He kept Simeon as insurance for the brothers' return. Genesis 42:24. Not only did Joseph give them provisions for their trip, but he craftily returned the silver with which they paid for the grain. There is no account of him treating Simeon poorly; in fact, some writers assume that he was given all the luxuries that Joseph was privy to.

Kill him. Initially they wanted to kill him.
Reuben. Genesis 37:21-22 "When Reuben heard this, he tried to rescue him from their hands. 'Let's not take his life,' he said. 'Don't shed any blood. Throw him into this cistern here in the desert, but don't lay a hand on him.' Reuben said this to rescue him from them and take him back to his father."
Midianites. Instead of killing him directly, his brothers sold him to the Midianites (also known as the Ishmaelites) for 20 shekels of silver. They then made it look as though he was killed by an animal, so that their father would not know.

household. Potiphar was so impressed with Joseph, he made Joseph his attendant to manage all of his possessions.
He interpreted dreams.. Several of Pharoah's servants were in the same jail and had dreams that they did not understand. Joseph was able to interpret these dreams. One servant (the cupbearer) lived to tell the Pharoah of how this prisoner would be able to help interpret the Pharoah's dream (although it took TWO years!).
Seven years of abundance followed by seven years of famine. Joseph interpreted the Pharoah's dream and saw seven prosperous years, followed by seven years of very harsh famine, erasing all evidence of the seven years of abundance.
