 Arkansas Razorbacks
Weber State. Weber State was the make-up game for the North Texas game being cancelled. Arkansas won handily.
Wide Reciever. Matt Jones made his debut at Arkansas as a Wide Reciever. He soon became the option Quarterback for Arkansas.
Cedric Cobbs. After a Matt Jones run, Cedric Cobbs scored to put Arkansas in the lead for good.
Fred Talley. Matt Jones rushed for his 100 yards on options and old-fashioned gutsy play making. Cedric Cobbs played like the Cobbs of old and found the end zone on multiple times. Mark Pierce produced points and yards from the full back position. Fred Talley didn't reach that mark in this game.

Punt Return for a Touchdown. Marvin Jackson returned a punt for a touchdown in the 3rd quarter. This boost of momentum didn't survive as Georgia outlasted Arkansas 34-23.
An Approaching Storm. An approaching storm caused a couple delays in game in Fayetteville. Tennessee went on to win by a score of 13-3.
Lawrence Richardson. Lawrence Richardson intercepted a pass from Jason Thomas to give Arkansas their first touchdown.
Ryan Sorahan. Ryan Sorahan constructed the drive that put Arkansas up 14-10 in a low scoring game on Thursday night on ESPN.
Joe Dean Davenport. Davenport, who was active in the rodeo on the side, would later go on to play for the Indianapolis Colts in the NFL. Arkansas gave the defending National Champions a good game this day but lost 45-31.

Michael Williams. Michael Williams gave everybody a heart attack when he almost dropped this easy TD pass. Arkansas was down 21-10 at the time, but came back to win 41-28.

David Barrett. Barrett had several key interceptions in his career at Arkansas. Hale and McDougle were important in the South Carolina game three weeks later.
Michael Snowden. Alabama just forgot to cover Michael Snowden on both of these passes. Davenport caught the second TD pass, Loudermilk would be a key element the next week against Kentucky, and Stinson would be important the following week against Memphis.
Anthony Lucas caught a TD pass for 88 yards. Arkansas beat SMU 44-17 this night to end a three-year losing streak to the Mustangs.
Southwest Louisiana. These four answers represented only two universities. Both of them changed names after the 2000 season. The Hogs defeated USL 38-17.
Tom Brady. All four of these Wolverine QBs would later have jobs in the NFL, and while Griese was on a team that would make it to the Super Bowl, he never got into the game. Brady won three Super Bowls with the New England Patriots.
Mississippi State. The Bulldogs got to play in the SEC title game by virtue of their 21-19 victory over the Hogs.
Florida, Georgia, Vanderbilt. The schedule rotated every two seasons. Arkansas would finish in a first place tie with Mississippi State in the SEC-West in 1998.
1. Ohio State held the number one ranking until the week before this game when they lost to Michigan State 28-21.
Tennessee. The Vols outscored the Hogs 18-3 in the second half to win 28-24.
The Liberty Bowl. Interestingly, Arkansas had more fans than Memphis did, even though it was a home game for the Tigers. Arkansas defeated Memphis 23-9.

An electrical failure that caused half of the lights to go out. Coach Nutt joked that the game should be moved down the street to Quigley Stadium, which is where he played high school football and won a state championship as a senior QB. Arkansas eventually won this game 44-17.
Both of these. Coach Ealy would leave the school after the 1999 season, then return to in 2004 to coach tight ends.
Keith Burns and Bobby Allen. The only NCAA school at the time to have co-coordinators.
Florida Citrus Bowl. This was the first time Arkansas had been invited to this bowl. The Hogs played against the Michigan Wolverines and lost by a score of 45-31.
