John Hudgins. John Hudgins won three games in Omaha, and was named the 2003 College World Series MVP.
LSU. LSU lost to Cal State Fullerton and South Carolina, to be eliminated in two straight games.
6-6. Philip Humber was 6-4, Wade Townsend was 6-4, and Jeff Niemann was 6-9, so the average was a little over 6-6.
8. The Cardinal had a tough bracket, but in the end came out victorious. They beat South Carolina, lost to Cal State Fullerton, beat South Carolina to eliminate the Gamecocks. Then beat Cal State Fullerton twice to eliminate the Titans, and advance into the first Championship Series, in which they played three games.

Justin Holmes. Justin Holmes got a late start from third base and tried to tag up and score from third, and did not slide into home. The rule says if a play can be made by the catcher, the runner cannot go into home plate standing. Holmes did, and was removed from the game.
LSU and Arkansas. LSU and Arkansas both went 0-2 in the series and were from the SEC.
