Johnny Oates
Sylva. Sylva is located in western North Carolina. It is a small mountain town near Western Carolina University, which me and my wife attended.

No. Johnny was a journeyman catcher and never compiled All-Star stats in any year. The 2002 all-star game ended in a 7-7 tie after 11 innings, ending a run of 5 straight victories for the American League.
Rochester. Many baseball fans have heard the Toledo team's nickname, yes they are the Mud Hens.

2001. Texas was not doing well, even though they had many high caliber players. As manager he was under pressure to win and would probably have been fired if he had not resigned. Johnny has retired from baseball to recover from a serious health problem he had. I wish him the best, I love him as family. I did this quiz to showcase the average Major League player, not the superstars. There are many other stories in sports about the average players that are very interesting.
