NCAA Football Helmets
mostly grey with buckeye leafs. The Ohio State Buckeyes won the National Championship in 2002. The school's colors were originally black and orange, but the school changed them to scarlet and grey, because Princeton already had those colors. The Buckeye leafs on the helmet are awarded by the coaches, and stand for each good play the player has made.
Miami. Miami was the number 2 team in the country in 2002. The U logo was developed because many other teams already had a M as their logo. The public relations director that developed the logo said the logo could stand for "U gotta believe".
A white I U in a red background. This helmet debuted in 2002. The school wanted to have a helmet that looked "old school".
Georgia. Georgia was the third best team in the nation in 2002. Besides the G, the helmet also has white bones for every good football play and black bones for every academic achievement.

The color of the Irish home football jersey has switched back and forth between blue and green for more than 50 years. The origin of school colors can be traced back to the founding of the University. At the time of its founding in 1842, Notre Dame’s original school colors were yellow and blue. Yellow symbolized the light, and blue the truth. However, sometime after the Dome and Statue of Mary atop the Main Building was gilded, gold and blue became the official colors of the University.

Texas Tech. The Red Raiders play in the Big Twelve conference South Division. They used a wide-open passing offense to much success. North Texas almost answers the question, but their nickname is the "Mean Green", and green is not a primary color.
Wyoming. The Wyoming Cowboys play in the Mountain West conference with the likes of Air Force, Brigham Young, Colorado State, UNLV, New Mexico, San Diego State, and Utah.
East Carolina. The East Carolina Pirates play in Conference USA. Their colors are purple and yellow.
Troy State. The Troy State Trojans play in Troy, Alabama. They just recently joined the Division 1-A ranks, and have had some decent results since.
Central Michigan. The Central Michigan Chippewas play in the Mid American Conference. They are in the same division as Western Michigan and Eastern Michigan. Pretty confusing, isn't it?
Louisiana-Lafayette. Louisiana-Lafayette plays in the recently created Sun Belt conference. The "Ragin' Cajuns" play alongside division rivals Arkansas State, Idaho, Louisiana-Monroe, Middle Tennessee State, New Mexico State, and North Texas.
Vanderbilt. The Vanderbilt Commodores play in the Southeastern Conference's Eastern Division, with the likes of Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, and Kentucky.

Louisville. The Louisville Cardinals play in the Conference USA. They have had several talented quarterbacks of late, most recent being Dave Ragone.
Arizona. The Arizona Wildcats play in the Pacific Ten conference. They have had some good teams recently, but their head coach has been taking heat of late due the team's poor play.
Tulsa. The Tulsa Golden Hurricane play in the Western Athletic Conference. They play their home games in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Kent State is nicknamed the Golden Flashes.
Kansas. The Kansas Jayhawks play in the Big Twelve conference. Iowa is the Hawkeyes, Miami is the Redhawks, but neither team wears blue and red uniforms.

Northwestern. Northwestern's Wildcats, members of the Big Ten, have a VERY non-unique nickname, as "Wildcats" is definitely among the most popular nicknames in college football. Ohio State's "Buckeyes", Minnesota's "Golden Gophers", and Penn State's "Nittany Lions" are unique names in college football.
Penn State. The Nittany Lions began wearing the plain white helmets in 1975, having featured players' numerals on the sides prior to then.
Clemson. The Tigers' helmets had featured a pawprint beginning in 1976. Prior to then, the letter "C" provided the logo.
Colorado State. The logo on the Rams' helmets is similair to that of the St Louis Rams of the NFL.
