1963 in North Bay. Ringette was developed by Sam Jacks in 1963 in North Bay, Ontario.
In the center circle. The visitor team starts the ring in the center circle on their side of the red line. One of the defense takes the ring and passes it to one of her players. The game begins.

30 seconds. This rule does not apply in the younger two leagues.
North Bay, Ontario 1963. It was invented by Sam Jacks.
The visiting team gets possession of the ring in the center circle. At the start of the first period, the visiting team starts with possession and in the second period, the home team starts with possession. In the event of a shootout, the referee flips a coin and the captain of each team participates. The winner will get possession at the start of the first overtime and the loser will start with possession at the start of the second overtime.
