Cinncinnati Reds. In 2001, Sean Casey had an outstanding batting average of .310 and a slugging percentage of .458. He made history at PNC Park in Pittsburgh with the first home run since the stadium was opened.
Boston Red Sox. Sometimes, between innings, Manny would go into the Green Monster and talk with the people that put the numbers up on the scoreboard.
Arizona Diamondbacks. Randy Johnson threw the 17th perfect game in baseball history for the Diamondbacks against the Atlanta Braves in 2004. He won the game 2-0.
Atlanta Braves. He only played in 8 games in 1993 but he had a .667 batting average. He was a well developed switch-hitter.
Colorado Rockies. Darryl Kile had 13 wins in 1998 with 1 shutout. He had 158 strikeouts and a 5.20 ERA.
Atlanta Braves. I do not know how many times I have seen the video of the home run, it really is amazing to watch. Home run number 715 on April 8, 1974 meant that Aaron passed Babe Ruth on the all-time home run list to become home run champ until Barry Bonds took the title in 2007.
Pittsburgh Pirates. On May 26, 1959, Haddix pitched for the Pirates in a game against the Milwaukee Braves. He was pitching lights out the whole game, but could not finish it out in extra innings because his team was not scoring any runs. The first batter for the Braves in the 13th inning, Felix Mantilla, reached first on an error by 3rd baseman, Dan Hoak, ending the "perfecto" run. The Braves managed to score a run in this inning, so Haddix also had to take a loss that day.
Arizona Diamondbacks. On Tuesday May 18, 2004, Randy Johnson became the oldest pitcher to ever toss a perfect game by perfecting the Atlanta Braves. He struck out 13 in 117 pitches with only 30 balls.
Los Angeles Dodgers. Hershiser won the award by going 23-8 with a 2.26 ERA in 1988.
Detroit Tigers. Cobb easily won the MVP in 1911 with a batting average of .420 and an RBI total of 127.
Oakland Athletics. Henderson's 130 stolen bases in 1982 was second on the single season record list. He sat behind Hugh Nicol, who stole 138 in 1887 for the Cincinnati Red Stockings.
Chicago Cubs. Wilson had amazing numbers in 1930 with a BA of .356, 56 HR's, and 191 RBI. Unfortunately neither league gave out an MVP award due to credibility issues with it. Wilson was awarded an unofficial MVP award by the Baseball Writers' Association of America.
Boston Red Sox. The first time Clemens accomplished this feat was in 1986 at the age of 23. The second time was in 1996 at the age of 33. 20 strikeouts in a nine inning game set a Major League record. It has been accomplished also Kerry Wood, and Randy Johnson.
Boston Red Sox. It was the famous 1986 World Series in which Barrett knocked his 13 hits. Of course, this is the series where Bill Buckner allowed a ball through his legs at first, which let in the tying run. The series went on to game seven where the curse of the Bambino struck again, giving the New York Mets the World Series title despite Barret's best efforts.
