Phil Stacey. Phil Stacey was in the Navy before he came on "American Idol" and when he got voted off, he said he will be going back to the Navy.
LaKisha Jones. LaKisha kissed Simon after her performance on Bon Jovi night and the next week was voted off.
Haley Scarnato. That week Haley wore very short shorts and a small shirt, she was voted off the next day.
Seattle. Jordin sang "Because you Loved Me" by Celine Dion at her audition, and Blake audioned with "Crazy" by Seal.

A.J. Tabaldo. A.J. Tabaldo is a five time contestant but season six was the only time that he made the top 24. After a poor first performance he did a really good job with his second performance and got a lot of favorable reviews from the judges. It was therefore a major upset when he got voted off before the top 12 especially considering the male contestants in season six were not as strong as past seasons. Paul Kim and Rudy Cardenas were voted off in the top 24 itself while Jared Cotter lasted until the top 16.

Antonella Barba. It was revealed that one of Antonella's supposed friends released some personal photos of her which included wet-tshirt photographs. These photos were addressed on a lot of major news shows and it really boosted her popularity on the show. However, the continuous bad singing got her voted off during the top 16 round of "American Idol" along with Sabrina Sloan.

Sabrina Sloan. The first week Nicole and Amy were eliminated and neither of them were top 12 quality anyways. Then Leslie and Alaina were eliminated who were outshined by the other women in the competition. The third week Sabrina and Antonella were eliminated. Antonella wasn't the best of singers and was in the competition on looks alone while Sabrina was definitely top 10 material and a lot of people were surprised that she was eliminated that early in the competition. This was one of the many upsets that happened in season six of "American Idol".

Sundance. Sundance started with "Nights in White Satin" and, like many of the other male contestants, got poor reviews from the judges. He followed up with "Mustang Sally," got really rave reviews and was considered one of the better male singers in the competition. His third performance - "Jeremy" was a strong performance but was missing the spark that "Mustang Sally" had and this led to him being voted off. A lot of people expected him to be in the top 6 guys especially considering his performances were better than Chris Richardon, Sanjaya Malakar and Brandon Rogers at this point. Nicholas Pedro was voted off in the top 20 and Jared Cotter was voted off along with Sundance during the top 16 round. Brandon got through to the top 12 despite weak performances and therefore was the first to be voted off there.

The results were therefore suprising when she and Chris Richardson were named the bottom two and Stephanie was eventually voted off. Brandon Rogers was voted off during the top 11 for having all weak performances. Chris Sligh and Gina Glocksen (in that order) were voted off during the top 10 and top 9 respectively.
