 American Idol: Season 8
4. This year (2009) "American Idol" had 4 judges. The fourth judge was Kara DioGuardi.
"Bohemian Rhapsody". Adam was in the cast of "Wicked" in the LA production. He played the character Fiyero.
36. They performed in groups of 12. Only 3 people from each group made it into the next round.
Anoop Desai. When they were doing the Wild Card show (2009) and picked Matt Giraud as the final on the top 12, Simon called Anoop back and told him, "they decided to make it a top 13."
Anoop Desai and Lil Rounds. Anoop Desai and Lil Rounds both left the show together. They got out on Disco Week.
Matt Giraud. He got voted off in the top 5 on season 8. The judges told him he looked like Justin Timberlake.
"Whole Lotta Love". Adam sang "Whole Lotta Love" by Led Zepplin. When he was first interviewed he was asked what song he would love to sing on "American Idol" and he said "Whole Lotta Love". After his performance Kara called him "A rock god," and Simon told him, "Nobody can top that now." Rock week took place during the top 4 on "American Idol" 2009.
Megan Joy. Meghan said that she loves art and likes to take it with her (on her arm). Meghan was in the show during season 8.
3. Paula told Danny that she would see him in the finale.
"No Boundries". They shared their new hit single "No Boundries." Kara co-wrote it and Simon didn't like it.

"Mad World". When Adam first sang this song Simon Cowell stood up and gave him a standing ovation. This is the first time in the history of the show that Simon has ever stood up.
"Ain't No Sunshine". Kris also played the piano while he was singing it.
Adam Lambert. Adam has been performing since he was 3. He has been in many plays including "Peter Pan" and "Wicked."
Danny Gokey. Danny Gokey sang, "Jesus Take the Wheel," by Carrie Underwood, (who won in the 4th season of "Idol"). Country week took place during the top 11.
"Apologize". Kris sang "Apologize" by OneRepublic.
"One". Simon called the original owners of the song "One" and got permission to let Adam have the song for "Idol." They were too eager to let him have it!
"A Change is Gonna Come". Simon Fuller is the producer of the show. He chose "A Change is Gonna Come" for Adam to sing.
North Carolina. In the wild card show Anoop mentioned where he went to college and that it was in North Carolina. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Feeling Good. Adam used the stairs for the song "Feeling Good." Paula loved it so much she was on her feet, snapping and dancing.
"Tracks of My Tears". Adam cleaned up a lot on his 4th song, "Tracks of my Tears." He removed his nail polish, chains, boots, and he slicked back his hair. He looked exactly like Elvis.
Tatiana del Toro. Thankfully Tatiana got voted off in the top 36. She thought she could sing better than anyone but apparently 13 people beat her out. I guess America didn't agree with her.
Top Download. Adam sang it on top download week which came before disco week. So when disco week came he slowed down "If I Can't Have You."
Norman Gentle. Norman Gentle would wear a sparkly shirt, cargo shorts, glasses, and a sweat band and sing horribly like a joke. It was scary.
"Mad World". Adam sang "Mad World" on a glass chair. The way he had the lighting it looked like he was sitting in midair. This gave him the illusion that you could, "look right through me."
Slash. In an interview after rock week Slash admitted that he, "did not want to be a mentor, but when you're in the business you gotta do what you gotta do."
Adam and Allison. Simon told Adam and Allison that they won in the battle of the duets.
"One" and "Cryin'". Adam sang "One" and "Cryin'." Simon chose "One" for him, but then Adam chose "Cryin'" for his next song.
"Renegade". Simon told them that Danny sang it better than Kris.
"Black or White". Adam sang "Black or White." After his performance Paula told him, "I'll see you in the finale."
Alexis Grace. Alexis Grace was voted off in the top 11. The top 10 was then made and she just missed the tour.
"Mad World". Simon gave him a standing ovation on "Mad World." This is the first time Simon has ever stood up on "American Idol."
