 American Idol: Season 8
Adam Lambert, Kris Allen, Danny Gokey. The theme for the top three was Judge's Choice and Contestant's Choice.
Jamie Foxx. America was shocked to see that Adam Lambert wound up in the bottom two that week. However, Matt Giraud was eliminated.
Matt Giraud. The judges were allowed one save throughout the season and decided to use it on Matt. Lil Rounds and Anoop Desai were eliminated the following week.
Scott MacIntyre. The theme for the top eight was the year in which the contestants were born. Unfortunately, Scott did not get enough votes to remain in the competition.
Carrie Underwood. Carrie Underwood sings Mötley Crüe's "Home Sweet Home" as the contestants watch their journey on "Idol."
Michael Jackson. Jorge Núñez and Jasmine Murray were the two contestants to leave the show.
Arianna Afsar. The wild card gave another chance for contestants to make the top twelve. However, the show introduced a top thirteen for the first time.
Billboard Hot 100 hits. There were three groups of twelve in which each contestant was randomly put into. America got to decide which three from each group advanced to the top twelve.
Kara DioGuardi. Kara DioGuardi is an American singer-songwriter who has worked with past idols such as David Archuleta, Carrie Underwood, and Kelly Clarkson.
Danny Gokey. Danny Gokey sang, "Jesus Take the Wheel," by Carrie Underwood, (who won in the 4th season of "Idol"). Country week took place during the top 11.
Adam Lambert. Adam has been performing since he was 3. He has been in many plays including "Peter Pan" and "Wicked."
"Ain't No Sunshine". Kris also played the piano while he was singing it.

"Mad World". When Adam first sang this song Simon Cowell stood up and gave him a standing ovation. This is the first time in the history of the show that Simon has ever stood up.
"No Boundaries". They shared their new hit single "No Boundaries." Kara co-wrote it and Simon didn't like it.
3. Paula told Danny that she would see him in the finale.
Megan Joy. Meghan said that she loves art and likes to take it with her (on her arm). Meghan was in the show during season 8.
"Whole Lotta Love". Adam sang "Whole Lotta Love" by Led Zepplin. When he was first interviewed he was asked what song he would love to sing on "American Idol" and he said "Whole Lotta Love". After his performance Kara called him "A rock god," and Simon told him, "Nobody can top that now." Rock week took place during the top 4 on "American Idol" 2009.
Matt Giraud. He got voted off in the top 5 on season 8. The judges told him he looked like Justin Timberlake.
Anoop Desai and Lil Rounds. Anoop Desai and Lil Rounds both left the show together. They got out on Disco Week.
Anoop Desai. When they were doing the Wild Card show (2009) and picked Matt Giraud as the final on the top 12, they decided to make it a top 13.
36. They performed in groups of 12. Only 3 people from each group made it into the next round.
"Bohemian Rhapsody". Adam was in the cast of "Wicked" in the LA production. He played the character Fiyero.
4. This year (2009) "American Idol" had 4 judges. The fourth judge was Kara DioGuardi.
"Renegade". Simon told them that Danny sang it better than Kris.
"One" and "Cryin'". Adam sang "One" and "Cryin'." Simon chose "One" for him, but then Adam chose "Cryin'" for his next song.
Adam and Allison. Simon told Adam and Allison that they won in the battle of the duets.
Slash. In an interview after rock week Slash admitted that he, "did not want to be a mentor, but when you're in the business you gotta do what you gotta do."
"Mad World". Adam sang "Mad World" on a glass chair. The way he had the lighting it looked like he was sitting in midair. This gave him the illusion that you could, "look right through me."
Norman Gentle. Norman Gentle would wear a sparkly shirt, cargo shorts, glasses, and a sweat band and sing horribly like a joke. It was scary.
Top Download. Adam sang it on top download week which came before disco week. So when disco week came he slowed down "If I Can't Have You."
Tatiana del Toro. Thankfully Tatiana got voted off in the top 36. She thought she could sing better than anyone but apparently 13 people beat her out. I guess America didn't agree with her.
