Tao. Tao's name means 'the way'.
they are all correct. The animals have the same names in both the tv series and the films, but there is a difference in the tiger, Ruh. In the series, Ruh is a regular striped tiger, while in the films he's a black tiger. I know he's definately a black tiger in the first film,but I'm not sure about the other films.

Andromeda. The original Sorceress (played by Monika Schnarre) and The Ancient One's new protege, the New Sorceress (played by Dylan Bierk), both had guest appearances in the tv series 'Andromeda'.
Kyra. Dar's true love and the last surviving female of his tribe, Kyra, was lost to him. When he finally found her, she sacrificed her life to save his. She was played by Natile Mendoza.

Sharak was once human but was turned into an eagle by The Ancient One because he was in love with the Sorceress (both of them were The Ancient One's apprentices). Kodo and Podo were turned into humans when the Sorceress had curious questions about the Beastmaster. Slayer, the wolf, was one of Dar's brothers.

Marc Singer. In the show, Marc Singer played Dar's strange and magical guide. In the movies, he played in all of 'The Beastmaster' movies as the Beastmaster himself, Dar. There are definately 3 of them available to rent now. I think there's a 4th, but I'm not sure. The first is available on home video and DVD (I got the VHS at K-Mart for $6.44).

white. Ruh is played by a tiger named Sasha and Ruh's mother is played by a white tiger by the name of Mohan. There are cool pictures of these animals (as well as other characters) on the Beastmaster's website(www.beastmaster.com). I love the picture of the tigers... especially the baby cub, Arjuna, she's so cute!
Marjean Holden. Marjean Holder plays Arina. Arina was once Dar's enemy but later they became allies and good friends. Holden was in the futuristic 'Crusade' to save Earth as Dr. Sarah Chambers.
Jackson Raine. Tao wears a green ring symbolizing his family/clan.
Daniel Fitzgerald. Sharak was once human before he was turned into an eagle.
The Sorceress. Once he found out that they were in love, The Ancient One turned Sharak into an eagle and made The Sorceress forget all about Sharak. Later on, she remembered the love she shared with Sharak.
