 Blue Heelers
January 1994. On 18 January 1994 the very first episode of "Blue Heelers" screened on Channel 7, Australia wide. TV critics suggested that it was "A Country Practice" meets "Cop Shop" and wouldn't last on TV.
1996. "Blue Heelers" won Most Popular Program in 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000. The show was nominated in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 but didn't win.
PJ Hasham. PJ Hasham was initially accused of murdering Maggie Doyle as all of the purported evidence pointed to him. The other characters, who appeared in the same episode were, Detective Sergeant Paul Donald, Inspector Russell Falcon-Price, and Mick Doyle, Maggie's brother (her killer).

Williamstown, Victoria. Williamstown, Victoria is 'Mt Thomas' (along with a bit of Werribee) and the broad streets and old trees give it the feel of a country town. But, Williamstown is only about fifteen minutes in a car from Melbourne's CBD and is actually located on Port Phillip Bay. The Mt Thomas Police Station, the Courthouse and the main street (Nelson Place) have all been used in "Blue Heelers".
10,000. Mt Thomas has a population of around 10,000 and is meant to be just your average country town, with an above average crime rate. If Mt Thomas were a real town, you definately wouldn't want to live there, as it would have to be the crime capital of Australia!
PJ Hasham. Detective Senior Constable Hasham has been part of the Mount Thomas team since the beginning of the show. Until 2004, when Amy Fox joined him, he was the only detective stationed at Mt. Thomas.
Puddles. Puddles was a Border Collie. Digger is Tom's Blue Heeler.
Maggie. He was involved in a drug operation and she knew too much.
Jo. The explosion was via a bomb made by a criminal with a grudge against Tom Croydon - it wasn't meant for Jo.
Clancy. Clancy brought in the backpack containing the bomb, not realising what it was.
The Imperial. Many arguments, brawls and arrests have taken place at the Imperial over the years. Some of the coppers have lived in the hotel rooms upstairs, including Maggie, Adam and Jonesy.
The Commercial. We don't see as many brawls, arguments and arrests at the Commercial as we do at the Imperial. The pub used as the Commercial is in Williamstown, Victoria, like the original police station. However, the Imperial is in Castlemaine.
Erik Thomson. Erik starred as Mitch Stevens in "All Saints" and won a "TV Week" Logie Award. He also appeared with his wife Caitlin McDougall in the telemovie "The Alice."
Stacey Norse . Stacey was police officer Adam Cooper's wife. Kate has also appeared in the successful ABC series "SeaChange" and also the telemovie "Tempation" and its spin-off series "The Cooks."
Beth Buchanan. After surviving the car accident that killed her mother, joining a cult, dropping out of university and going back to university, Susan eventually became a primary school teacher. Beth's sister Simone plays a nurse at the Mt. Thomas hospital.
Grace. Grace was Tom's wife, also a Reverend, who was sadly raped and killed in the early 2004 series.
Clancy. Clancy was a beloved, friendly Mt. Thomas resident who brain damage, but also an excellent memory so he has been helpful to the police over the years. In 1996, he also got rid of baby Sam Croydon's fever. In 2004, he sadly died in the police station bombing.
Karen Davitt. Zoe ended up marrying police officer Nick Shultz in 1998.
Gabe Greenway. Gabe ended up breaking up with Wayne shortly before his untimely death because her son Ben was involved in a hostage situation with Wayne that day and she didn't want her children in danger due to Wayne's job. She also had a daughter named Susannah.
Kate Kenny. Kate was dating Wayne for a short time, until he discovered she was the driver of a getaway vehicle for her criminal husband. She also accused him of sexual harrassment to try and cover her tracks.
Rebecca later married actor Simon Baker, and is close friends with Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts.
Catherine Wilkin. Sally neglected to tell Tom she had a husband she was separated from, and dound herself accused of a crime he committed.
Catherine has also appeared in "McLeod's Daughters."
The Baxters. In addition to the bombing, a Baxter raped and murdered Tom's wife Grace.
Some other recurring criminal families include the Darcys and the Kennys.
Zoe. Every now and again, Nick's grief over the death of his wife Jennifer and daughter Zoe in a car accident comes back to him.
9 . The McKinleys grew up on a farm. Dash was the youngest.
Crash Palace. As most of her fans will know, Simone appeared in "Crash Palace" with red hair (it was blonde on "Blue Heelers") and an Irish accent.
WAAPA (Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts). Lisa grew up in Perth and was accepted to study for a degree in musical theatre when she was just 16, which is an extraordinary achievement as most large drama schools in Australia rarely accept younger students (it's not necessarily an age thing, but something about having more life experience to use in acting).
NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Art). The role of Sergeant Tess Gallagher was Caroline's first professional role after graduating from NIDA shortly before.
O Positive. This is mentioned in the 1998 episode "She Killed Santa," when Dash was discussing a case prior to DNA testing with a colleague. Part of the identification of victims and perpetrators was by their blood type and Dash argued that that method was not conclusive.
Cancer. This was before we even met Maggie, so the only family members we saw in the show were her father and brothers.
"Retribution," Part Two. "Retribution," was a two-part episode (obviously), the first two in the 2004 series. Jo was shown at the beginning of the episode pinning her new name tag on proudly, though not as much so nor as excitedly as she probably would have if her boyfriend PJ had not been arrested for murder in Part One.
10. This was in the 1996 series. Kayla and her older brother Luke returned to Mt. Thomas in the 2003 series.
