 Dante's Cove
Ambrosius and Grace. The first episode actually starts out in the 1800s with Grace and Ambrosius. It's when Grace finds out Bro is gay and is cheating on her with his houseboy, Raymond. Toby and Kevin are the first couple seen AFTER the credits. Cory and Adam are NOT a couple, and Vanessa and Tina aren't seen together until awhile into the episode.
A doll. Bro actually gave Grace a porcelain doll possessed with a spell. The spell was simple: you touch the doll, you fall in love with the first person you see afterward. Grace picked the doll up from the gift box Ambrosius had given it to her in, then looked up at him to thank him, causing her to fall in love with him.
Tresum. Tresum is a tripartite religion that consists of the House of Moon, the House of Sky, and the House of Sun. The purpose of the religion is to balance the power of male and female energy on Earth. Wicca is the religion of the witch (but never mentioned in "Dante's Cove"), and Stalia and Galtium don't exist.
H2Eau. Toby works at H2Eau with Brit and Michelle [both introduced in season two]. It's a club owned by another newbie as of season two, Marco. LiZard and JamZ don't exist, and Sea N' Suds is a beach-side restaurant in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
The Hotel Dante. Yep, the residence of the show: the Hotel Dante! If you didn't notice, the Hotel got a HUGE makeover between seasons one and two. And got a new bar! The Historical Society is focused on at times, as is the local bar, but the Hotel is the main setting of the show. Laguna Beach was only shown in season one, part one and in flashbacks.
Diana Childs. Diana Childs (revealed to be Grace's sister!) was who ended up helping Ambrosius, to get back at Grace. Stupid Bro... I wish he never would've gotten out of the basement! Grace was Ambrosius' ex-fiancee, and is who locked him up, so she would NEVER help him! Kevin Archer is the boy Bro decides to take on as his aspirant, and Toby Moraitis is an enemy of Ambrosius, solely because Toby loves Kevin.
Glass. When Kevin cuts himself, Van defends him by saying "he probably cut himself on a piece of glass. There's a [crapload] down in the basement!" Technically, Bro used his powers to make Kevin cut himself, but since the 'glass' was in Kevin's hand, he cut himself. Kevin later overpowered the spell and ran out of the basement and out of the Hotel Dante, petrified of the Warlock in the basement.
He was caught having sex with another man.. It all happened when Kevin was 12. What happened to Kevin's mother was not that unlike what happened to our beloved Grace, except nobody was punished for the affair. Kevin's father disappeared shortly after this incident, which led Kevin's mother to remarry.
Steven and Betty. Steven and Betty were killed in a house fire in 1954. Bro wanted to test his will to live, so he set the building on fire with him inside. He survived but the children didn't. Grace and Diana was never killed. Emily wasn't killed until Ambrosius broke away from the basement. It is assumed that Sadia died of natural causes in the 1800s.
Sadia killed him.. Sadia killed him as a part of a Tresum ritual. Mate with a male, conceive his seed, then sacrifice his body to give your daughter power. If Sadia hadn't sacrificed the girls' father, Grace never would've gained powers.

Adam. Adam and Toby went to school together from the fifth grade, up. Toby was supposedly in love with Adam back then, and Adam even says "[our relationship] would've been great... but I'm straight". Adam is extremely jealous of Kevin and is harmful to every relationship Toby has ever tried to have, including the one with Kevin. Cory is openly gay, and Vanessa and Michelle are both lesbians.

Diana. Diana was revealed in season two to be Grace Neville's sister, Diana Childs. Sadia, Diana and Grace's mother, never liked Diana and saw her as a mistake that would destroy Grace. Marco was the owner of H2Eau, Kai was the handyman around the Hotel Dante, and Michelle was Vanessa's girlfriend.

Toby. Toby is the kind of guy that attracts the usual misfit, as we saw with Kevin. He always seems to take home the 'puppy that no one wants'. He's been out for a long time, which causes jealousy from Kevin because Toby's parents were so okay with him being gay. Kevin didn't come out until right before he moved to the Cove, we're unsure of when/how Cory came out, and Adam still claims to be straight.

Vanessa. In season two, it was revealed that Van never knew her parents. She's Toby's best friend, and has dipped into her interest in Tresum. She got the Libra solstice in season two and used her power to bring her love, Michelle, back from the dead. Michelle was Van's girlfriend, Diana is Grace's sister and a Tresum witch, and Tina was a girl Vanessa had a fling with.

Cory. Poor Cory... he was killed in season two when Van unintentionally threw him out into the sea. In season one, though, he made his mark as the gay playboy that's always up for a good time. Cory was openly gay the entire time we knew him. Adam claims to be straight, and Kevin is sometimes ashamed of being gay. Toby doesn't 'hook up' or claim that the Dante throws [rockin'] parties'.

Ambrosius. Ambrosius was once engaged to Grace Neville, but after he was caught having sex with his houseboy, Raymond, Grace locked him in her basement. He's now in love with Kevin and is determined to make Kevin his lover, and is willing to do ANYTHING to make that happen... even if that means murder. Toby, Adam, and Cory were all born in the 1900s.

Grace. That scene broke my heart! Grace fell in love with Ambrosius all because of a spell he put on her, and HE cheated on her! That was the point that made Grace snap and turn into a vengeful, sinister witch. Grace is fluent in the ways of Tresum and lives to get revenge for Bro's betrayal. Diana is Grace's sister, and Toby and Kevin weren't alive until the 1900s.
Tina. In season one, Van was seen fooling around with Tina. In season two, it was revealed that Van had had a girlfriend for the last eight months and Tina was just a "hook up". Michelle was Van's girlfriend of eight months, Toby is Van's gay best friend, and Diana doesn't come in until season two.

Kevin. Kevin didn't actually come out to his parents, but they knew. He tried to lead them to believe he had a steady girlfriend, when really he was dating Toby. He finally left his home in Laguna Beach when he and his stepfather got into a fight resulting in his stepfather yelling "I'm not living in the same house with a (homophobic slur)!" Adam is supposedly straight, Cory wasn't in love with Toby, and Kai is the handyman for the Hotel Dante.

Sadia. Sadia is Grace and Diana's evil mother. She is obsessed with Tresum and never liked Diana. She spoiled Grace to keep her dependent on her, lying that someday she'd be ready to marry and birth a daughter of Tresum. Diana and Grace were her daughters, and Vanessa has no children.
