After Johnny picks up the gun and sees the vision of Carl being stabbed in prison he knows he has to find out the truth. Johnny slowly convinces the jurors one by one, until other evidence is found showing that the accused is not guilty.

Abby and Artie are engaged, but Abby and Tommy are lustful for each other, after a night of love with Tommy Abby is pregnant, she breaks it off with Tommy knowing it will never work. Then breaks it off with Artie, not wanting to hurt him. In the end Johnny brings Artie and Abby back together and finds Tommy reminiscing in the park.

The boy's heart beating, from the inside. The boy is Todd Paley, who is headed to Princeton on a hockey scholarship. When Johnny touches him the first time he sees inside the boy's heart. He doesn't know what it means but asks the team doctor to check him out. The doctor gives him a clean bill of health. That night after the team wins the game Johnny touches Todd's hockey stick and sees Todd fall down on the ice, dead. During the next game Johnny is made coach after the coach is ejected from the game, Johnny immediately pulls Todd off the ice and the team loses. Later that night on the way home, Todd passes out in the car. Todd had a moderate cardiac arrhythmia which could have been fatal if it had happened while Todd was playing.
